I had some problems with the screws loosening a few times over the course of a few weeks, but I put some Permatex on the threads and tightened them down without any further issues. The seat is well padded and comfo
rtable to sit on, and the wood used is good quality hard wood that should last for years and years. My daughter likes it and borrows it often, my granddaughter plays with it every time she comes in my room, and I use it in the bathroom as a dressing stool. I would like if this stool was a little cheaper in price, but I have to admit that compared to other options being sold across the market, this is a quality product and well worth the price. I do recommend this stool.

Attractive, short term comfort

I was a little worried about assembly after reading some reviews. It took a little time, but following the instructions actually works. And works well. I didn't have any issues, didn't need additional tools, it worked great. The only thing I'm sorry I didn't do (well, I'll be sorry in the far-flung f
uture) is what one reviewer recommended and that was to add wood glue to the screws when I put them in - but there it is. This is a lovely, sturdy stool and I look forward to years of use.

These stools look really nice & are fairly comfortable. BUT the assembly was horrible. I’ve put together a lot of items but this was the worst. They come with large screws and an Allen wrench. Why they didn’t use screws you could use a screwdriver with, is beyond me. The wrench kept slipping off the
screw head and the holes were not drilled deep enough. After struggling to get the screws in, I found a driver that took the same head and that helped a little. I finally had to get out the drill & drill the holes deeper. That solved the problem. Unfortunately from trying to get these screws in & the wrench slipping, I ended up with one screw head damaged to the point I couldn’t tighten it or take it out. Because of that, the cross bar couldn’t be tightened on that side, so I used glue to keep it together. I couldn’t insert the little wood button in that hole because the screw wasn’t in far enough, but it faces the wall so no one will notice it. If you purchase these, I would drill the holes before putting it together. I just hope the glue holds on mine.

These are surprisingly difficult to put together. For being a simple stool, they've been kind of a pain to get done. I bought 2, and was expecting an under 5 minute assembly. I'm still working on the first and it's been 20 minutes because I had to take it apart twice. Maybe I'm just dense, but I'm fi
nding it to be more confusing than need be. Maybe labeling the pieces or sending a few already put together would be nice. Even if they sent the bottom cross bars assembled, the package wouldn't be much bigger and would cut the confusion in half. Can't complain too much for the price, just didn't expect it. I've assembled many pieces of flat pack furniture and thought this would be much easy in comparison.

Strong hands needed for assembly

Update: After using this a couple times a week for a couple months it has become wobbly. The the screws are coming loose and require tightening. I bought this for my son to use while playing his double bass. The padding seems good for this purpose. Assembly instructions were easy to follow but the sc
rews were very difficult to get in and tighten by hand. If you are confident with a hand drill this won't be a problem but there were times when I wasn't sure I was even getting the screw straight in the pre-dilled hole and I didn't want to risk splitting the wood with my drill. My hands were sore the next day from holding so tight to the rails while trying to screw them in. One rail still has a bit of a separation but I can't get the screw in further and some of the wooden screw covers pop out so you'll have to glue them. I don't want to glue them in case the screws need tightening at some point. Overall though, it feels sturdy and like it will hold up well and works for our purpose.

Received these stools promptly. Read the reviews regarding assembly and decided to follow customer instructions rather than the written instructions. Excellent suggestion given to assemble the base first, just don’t screw anything in very tight so you can insert the cross pieces. I was not able to sc
rew everything together completely, needed muscle assistance. They do smell horrendous upon opening the package so I would suggest assembling outside. Mine are sitting outside airing out overnight.
