PROS: 1) I'm please with the quality of the materials. CONS: 1) Be prepared to stress out your carpal tunnel while assembling this stool. People with little hand-strength may want to ask a (good strong) friend for assistance. Ours is a Galley kitchen, space is at a premium. Good solid wood parts, doweled fitting, easy assembly directions. Just the right height for cooking, using countertops, at the sink. Gently curved seat for a very comfortable perch. Heavy enough and well-balanced for no tip-overs. A big help if you can't spend a long time on your feet.     • Horrible Quality Control, Difficult to Assemble

I ordered two. The quality of the wood is great but everything else is not. One bench had a support post that was WAY too big for any of the holes and we had to sand it down quite drastically. All of the wood scratches very easily, and since the drill holes are not done correctly, it is very difficult to get the screws in and very easy to scratch the wood. Mine both also came with a few minor scratches already on them, before the ones I inadvertently added. And a few screws stripped before I could get them all the way in because of the drilling issues. My second bench, I cannot fix with the tools I have. In the seat, each corner is supposed to have a middle hole to screw into the leg. It is completely missing this hole in just one corner. Great price if you want to deal with the quality control issues and difficult in putting it together. ... show more

I have always Love these Stools. My kitchen chair/steps gave away which I have had for 40 years or more. I saw the opportunity for a Stool and it is just lovely in my kitchen.

    • Very nice stools but difficult to assemble
Would have given these 5 stars but they are a bear to put together. Nice looking and sturdy once assembled however.

    • Quality stool at a great price
We bought these stools to replace and update older, round stools. We owned and had used saddle stools previously and find that design more comfortable for long sitting. The shipment arrived on time and the packaging kept the contents undamaged with minimal waste. Like the packaging, the assembly was also well thought out and fairly easy to complete with decent instructions. The necessary Allen wrench is supplied, but it helps to have a ratchet wrench with Allen or star driver to save time and wear on your wrist. Also, a rubber mallet is handy/needed to secure the wooden plugs hiding the assembly screws easily and without damage. Once assembled, the stools were sturdy, level, and comfortable for sitting. I did add felt pads to the feet to prevent scratching as well as to ease sliding the stools on the floor. The finish is very good and the coloring consistent. The walnut color matched well with the dark finish of our cabinets and dinette table. A cross support on one of the legs remained a little rough/unfinished, but I was able to turn the unfinished side inward so it is not noticeable. This slight flaw prevented me from rating this item as a perfect 5. In fairness to the seller/manufacturer, I didn’t contact them about this issue as it wasn’t a big concern for me and didn’t compromise the overall look or function.     • Good quality and height for setting at a counter in kitchen.
The stool was easy to assemble and very sturdy. Be sure to do just like directions that is enclosed in the box. Shouldn’t have a problem assembling.
