    • Beautiful looking fridge, but the noise is driving me crazy.
I bought this fridge last year, and for the first three months, it worked great. It wasn't loud, controlled the temperature, and looked amazing. Then, in the fourth month, it started getting louder and louder, and now I'm a year in, and the noise is unbearable. It's sad that this fridge seems like it's going out only after a year. I couldn’t be any more happier about this powerful unit. Everything is sturdy down to the individual wine trays. The trays are very sturdy and slide out with confidence with no looseness.. The unit was up to temp within a hour and wine chilled ready to sip.. The locking mechanism is sturdy with not much play. The many options of trays is what sold me the most. Right out of the box this $760 wine cooler started with problems - this thing was actually packed with a defective leveling screw that was left sticking out from the bottom of the cooler because the end of it wasn't machined properly (lack of grooves). Because of it being shipped this way it put too much pressure on that leveler and ended up breaking the cap on it. How the person packing this didn't catch that, or maybe just didn't care. My boyfriend had to take it to our next door neighbor who owns a saw to cut the defective end off of the leveler in order to still be able to use it. I'm also wondering if this led to other issues we're experiencing with the cooler now, so not a good first impression. Once that was fixed I let it sit for a day as instructed. I mainly wanted this cooler for white and sparkling wines, but did throw a few reds in the lower compartment as that was the designated zone for the warmer settings. Speaking of which this makes no sense to me - cold air sinks, so why would a design put the warmer dual zone on the bottom and not the top? Anyways I set the top (cold) zone at it's lowest possible temperature which is 40 degrees F because I love an ice cold white or sparkling wine, and the bottom warmer zone at 55 degrees F. Giving it a day to come up to temperature I stocked the cooler full, and gave the wines another couple of days to chill. This is where I began to notice a big fluctuation in the upper and lower zones - up to 5 degrees different than what you set them to, and that's not after opening the door. While you can't go lower than 40 in the top zone, the temperature occasionally reads down to 37 degrees. Then as the top gets colder, so does the bottom. I like the concept of having a dual zone wine chiller, but in this case the design doesn't appear to be working as well as it could be. Noise: this wine chiller is not as quiet as described. Some of the time it is quiet, but most the time it is not. The fan can be heard running throughout our 3300sq ft house, and every time it turns on it makes very loud knocking noises, enough it occasionally wakes me up at night. Recently it started sounding like we had a swarm of crickets in the house too, on top of an occasional light grinding noise. Looking through the manual to troubleshoot this, I saw one of the suggestions was to check the leveling on it. Yep, its level as far as we can tell since we don't own an actual leveling tool. This is where I'm wondering if being packed with a faulty leveling screw may have caused some internal damage to the fan or compressor during shipment. One more complaint: I wish the spacing between the shelves was slightly bigger to allow for more sparkling or wider bottles. As of right now I can only fit larger sparkling wine bottles in the middle rack and the very bottom rack where its warmer. It would have been nice if at least half of the shelves were 1/2inch larger to accommodate wider bottles, but I also understand this would then make the overall unit taller thus not being able to fit underneath most countertops. What do I do like about this unit: aesthetically its a gorgeous looking wine chiller. We have it in our dining room and its perfect there. Door also locks, but is a simple hex lock. The beech wood shelves have built in drawer stops to prevent accidentally pulling the shelf out all the way. Another good feature is the flathead plug. Interior light. Last but not least - plenty of chilled wine available at all times. I am one of those types that always forgot to put a bottle in the fridge before actually wanting chilled wine. In the end: despite stated issues and complaints I have enjoyed having plenty of chilled wine on demand as the cooler is keeping the wine chilled. I don't hate this wine cooler at all, its just that the problems we experienced right from unpacking it left a bad taste in the mouth like sour wine. Glancing at other reviews it does appear there have been others with fan issues, and overall many having to reach out to Wineboss to correct problems. I personally have not reached out to them yet but since we've had this cooler for 5 months now at time of this review, not sure if they would be willing to help us. That's our fault so am not going to make a stink about it, especially since we got this for free. But overall it does appear there are consistent issues with the chillers back in May, so perhaps there was a bad batch of them shipped out. As of right now I can't personally recommend this Wineboss cooler because of what we experienced, especially for its price tag. ... show more

I bought the 15” version for my kitchen reno project and so far it’s great. I like the dual zone so you can store both red and white wines and the wooden shelves give it a very upscale look. The wine refrigerator was delivered by UPS timely. The packaging was outstanding. To unpack, there were straps around the shipping container to cut but unboxing only required lifting the top cover straight up and you are left with the refrigerator sitting on a base. Easy to get a dolly under it and move it into the house and adjust the legs and slide it in. At that time we discovered that one of the pull out shelves had been mounted higher on one side so that when the shelf above it was pulled out it would rub on the bottle on the lopsided shelf. I sent pictures to the manufacturer who advised that the refrigerator would need to be replaced. The replacement arrived within a week. This seller always responded promptly to my emails.
