  • Quiet, cool, and works as advertised
The unit is quiet, cools quickly, accepts and organizes bottles cleanly and looks good with the lights on or off.

  • It’s perfect!
Color: Black Style: 18 Bottle Slimline
I have been searching for the perfect wine fridge for months and this one finally fit the bill! It’s slim and sleek, dual zone, holds 18 bottles as advertised, and is super quiet. I’m not sure what other reviewers are talking about as far as noise goes. It’s only a little loud when it first comes on and works to reach the desired temps. After that, it’s whisper quiet. And I am very sensitive to noise. Don’t hesitate on this one! I am super type A and this fridge meets all of my standards and more! ... show more

  • Compact and quiet
Color: Black Style: 18 Bottle Slimline
This is a nice little wine chiller. Super light weight, quiet and effectively packed. Be sure to note that this is exclusively a wine chiller, NOT a beverage cooler. It does not get cold enough for anything other wines. The operation is easy enough but I keep hitting the panel with my hand when I go to open it. Probably user error, maybe wonky layout. It does seem to grumble a little but after being opened and then closed again, probably trying to cool down. I think it’s a reasonable product for the cost. ... show more

  • It works just as advertized.
Color: Black Style: 18 Bottle Slimline
We are delighted with our new wine cooler. It is very quiet. It keeps the wine chilled in the two zones. It should have mentioned, when giving dimensions, that it needs 2 inches of space all around. This was difficult for the area we had for it. Also, it mentions sparking wines should be kept 40-45 degrees but it only cools to 46 degrees. That was a disappointment. Overall, we are very satisfied. ... show more

  • Buzzzzz Buzzzzz Buzzzzz
The cooler produces a "zapping" buzzing sound at least 2 x min while the compressor is running. It sounds almost like an electrical short, likely is not and instead is inherent to its design- cheap parts i assume. Mine makes the exact sound which another customer recorded and included in his review of this product. Buzzzzzzz, Buzzzzzzz, Buzzzzzzzz; having the same effect on me as chalk squeaking on a chalkboard (for those who remember chalkboards :) I contacted the vendor through Amazon but no meaningful reply. So, shipped it back to Wine Enthusiast. Sad, as WE is well known as a sommelier organization. I bought this cooler with confidence, thinking that WE requires high, exacting standards from any product they endorse with their name; as they do when reviewing wines, but I guess not. This Wine Cellar Cooler from Wine Enthusiast experience has stripped me of the confidence i once had in WE, sad for me, certain they do not care. Sending it back was a PIA due to size & weight, but Amazon provided the label, and all went well. :) ... show more

  • Broken handle attachments and missing pieces
Color: Black Style: 24 Bottle Dual-Zone
I am disappointed on the quality of this cooler, especially the handles. First, as many have pointed out, attaching the handles is very difficult, especially for one person. Whoever thought of this consumer unfriendly design? Having to peel the door seal all the way back with one hand while trying to align the handle screw with the other is frustratingly difficult. Why not attach the handles like is done on virtually all refrigerators? Also, one of the handles had the extension that attaches to the door reversed so it would not align with the attachment screws. So I had to disassemble the handle and put it back together so it would work. And to make matters worse, one of the stops inside the door frame that keeps the handle screw from protruding too far outside of the door was broken. So pulling on the handle just pulls the screw out. I have written Wine Enthusiast about that asking for a fix or an exchange. Second, the unit was missing one of the wine rack shelves. I have requested that the missing shelf be sent to me. Third, the quick start instructions were for a different model. The touch controls on the door are different from the instruction sheet. A little trial and error got to the right settings, but that is just careless on the part of the seller. Fourth, the unit is pretty loud. Not a problem for me since it is not near our bedroom or family room, but it is louder than our refrigerator. Fifth, while the unit cools down quickly when it is empty, it takes forever (as in overnight) to cool down when you fill it with room temperature wine bottles (like a newly purchased case). But it does eventually cool down in both zones and maintains the temperature in each zone very well until you open the door and put in more bottles. If the seller can come up with a solution for the door handle issue or exchange the unit, I will keep it. Otherwise it will go back for a refund and I will buy something else. ... show more

  • Sharp and functional
Color: Silver Style: 18 Bottle Slimline
I love wine (who doesn't?), especially reds. However, living in a condo, it's hard to maintain reds at a good serving temperature. No basement to stick these bottles in. I had toyed with the idea of a wine fridge for awhile, and finally pulled the trigger earlier this year. I did some research and the two main features I wanted were: 1) quiet operation, and 2) dual zone. It seemed pointless to shell out for a single zone fridge where I could only house either reds or whites, but not both. This unit was billed as a quiet/silent wine fridge, and happy to report that it definitely meets those standards. I can best describe the noise as a white noise / slight hum. Enough to know that it's running, but not enough to be distracting. The temperature zones are great - I've got reds on top, whites/rose on the bottom. In terms of design, the top section (reds) has the capability to store wines both lying flat, as well as standing up (2 bottles max). This is great because you can keep the wines flat for longer term storage, but if you have a vacuum wine stopper you can theoretically open a bottle, plug it back with the vacuum stopper, and then put it back in the wine fridge while standing up - keeping it fresh and drinkable for at least another week. Finally - the design is very sleek / modern. Looks great in a living room. Very happy with my purchase, and would recommend it to anyone who is like me - not a wine connoisseur but who is simply looking to make the most of their wines. ... show more
