I played volley ball for 5 years in school and some fun play on an adult team at my gym. I'm pretty familiar with a volley ball but not an expert. This is a great practice ball. I have been hitting it against a brick wall for some exercise while stuck at home. The pretty pattern has worn slightly (totally expected) but it's keeping its tightness and inflation. If you're not used to using a real volleyball, a good volleyball will hurt you. When you hit the ball with your palms, if there isn't a sharp snapping sound, you're hitting it wrong. If you're hearing a dull thud, it's going to hurt. Same goes for your forearms, if you're not pulling your rists back and your forearms tight, you're going to get some pin point buising and maybe even some big bruises. Be warned the ball is definitely one of the harder ones. When my kids play they get marks on their arms sometimes temporarily but it’s the ball they prefer the most. It’s not too soft and seems a good quality. My parents have one at their house to and we haven’t had trouble with either one.
