Let me start by saying I have installed PPF and vinyl wraps on vehicles before so this was not my first job of the sort and I have all the appropriate tools on hand. With that said this is not the easiest material to work with but its does not require a professional either if you take your time. My job did not come out perfect but good enough for protective purposes. I had plenty material to wrap my Quietkat. I can imagine this would be a handful on a well used bike, having a fresh, smooth, clean surface makes this much easier. I havent ridden it yet, hoping a good bake in the sun will work out some of the small bubbles I wasnt able to massage out. *EDIT* I used a heat gun to apply these and then let it bake in the sun for a couple days. After the first 10mi of riding the inside of the "chainstay" (brake side) lifted and took on quite a bit of moisture unter the decal, i squeezed out as much as I could and pressed it back down but I doubt it is going to stay. This material is very stiff to follow such tight bends such as 3 sides of the chainstay. ... show more

Yes you have to cut it yourself, just bust out your arts and craft skills you learned in grade school. Follow directions and should be no problem. Looks good, put on yesterday. Time will tell how strong it is, but it is thick and seems very durable.

This product is great. It covers vast expanses on my Emtb carbon frame very well. They have a great video on YouTube. Take your time on the install and do a small piece at a time.

    • Here’s what you need to know
Color: Glossy Clear
This is very thick frame protection tape so getting it to conform to contour is difficult without creating releif cuts. Thats ok, you’ll do great. Check out my suggestions below. 1. Put the hair dryer down. Do not use heat until you have got all the bubbles out and the tape is attached to the surface. Just keep using the squeegy and your fingers and rub out the bubbles then continue to rub the tape down until it sticks. Only then use heat. If you use heat on the clear its done. Removing it to reposition after heating will leave a cloudy residue on the tape. 2. Use sharp scissors! Do not use a blade!! I used an exacto blade and it left the edges visible and ugly. Not sure why. Scissors did a much nicer job and left the entire edge invisible. 3. Instead of trying to use large pieces, use smaller pieces where contour is being covered. Then use scissors to cut releif cuts in the tape near tight bends to get it to lay flat. Until you use heat this stuff can be easily adjusted. 4. Pro tip: sure the spray bottle with soap works but I put a bowl of soap water next to me so I could dip my fingers often. If you do not keep your fingers wet, the clear tape will show finger prints. 5. Pro tip: use basic dish liquid without anythjng else added. Also use less soap than a drop. I put a small drop of dish liquid in 22 oz of water and it worked great. You dont want too many bubbles! 6.pro tip: practice on your old bike using a small piece to get the process down. I used clear on a black carbon frame and it is virtually invisible! Also, removing it leaves a residue but its easy to clean off. I really like this product and I complain about everything!     • Much harder than you think!

The product appears to be good, its thick, its hard to install, read that again, ITS HARD TO INSTALL! I think they make a good product, that said, the videos are decieving. I am handy, and I struggled a lot with this product. If you have decals, anything that makes the surface not perfectly flat, too much liquid, not enough liquid, you will have issues. Overall, I would say the quality of the product is good, but for a novice who is trying to install, there is too much cutting, sizing and a VERY steep learning curve to get this done. I wasted over 2 feet of this tape learning, and eventually found that parts of my bike I could not effectively cover as they had decals with a slight variation in height. If you are looking for frame protection and dont. are about bubbles, this is for you. If you want a professional look, hire a professional. ... show more

    • Colors don't stand out against background color
Color: Geometric Camouflage Matte
The overall functionality of this product, for bicycle frame protection, is great. It was also easy to install. The only issue of note (for me, personally, is that I was expecting the non-black colors to stand out more clearly. I purchased the 'Geometric Camouflage' design to put on a green/black frame with a black fork. On the green parts of the frame all I can really see is the black, and everything else looks green. And on the black fork it just looks, well, black. It looks as though I had just put clear onto the fork, unless you happen to catch it in just the right light and be close. I was really expecting the silver and grey parts of the pattern to show up, but they are just invisible. Next time I would either go with something in white, or just clear. ... show more

    • Good product w/ great installation videos

This frame protector comes on a roll, so it’s a little more involved than just buying something like an AMS kit. There are templates included that you can follow to cut out the film, but you have the freedom to pretty much cut it to any shape you want. So coverage can be significantly better than with AMS. The videos were great! I’ve installed enough similar products that I would’ve been fine, but the videos saved time and include detailed instructions for those installing for the first time. I was a little bummed out on the color, I thought from the pictures that it was color-changing, turns out it was just a fade from blue to yellow and back, but it still looks pretty good on my frame. ... show more
