so full link vs. half link - google / youtube it.... obviously the link being smaller - you can more finely adjust tension via your drop outs... is it going to fit "snugger" on a 9T rear cog vs a full link chain (mathmatically yes as well) then is it going to be a "stronger" chain - indeed as well.... as a hobbyist BMXer will you notice anything - meh.... but hell i did it anyways - just like i "upgraded" my stem, pedals, and sprocket.... fyi - make sure the curved section is down / straight sige up and the chain links look like "fireballs" point forward. you will need a chain tool (~$25.00) - i believe standard sizing for a 20t front and 9t rear cog is 72 links if you want a double upgrade - you too can go with the "forged" vs "stamped" chain - but it costs ~ $62.00 all in all - whether it is "worth" it or not - tis a easy mod for you BMX. ... show more

This chain is very good its mainly for bmx bikes and before buying this chain make sure the chain length will fit your bike this chain fit my 29 inch bike/se big ripper i have a 33t sprocket and a 16t freewheel the chain rides smooth i dont recommend buying this if you want it for a cruizer bike or a bike that needs around 112 chain links but over all this chain is very high quality I recommend it ... show more

I bought this chain based on the marketing hype associated with the product. I have to say, I'm not completely impressed. Mainly for two reasons and these reasons might not matter to you. 1.) First of all, if you are putting this chain on any bike any larger than a 20" BMX bike, it more than likely will NOT be long enough. The folks at Shadow Conspiracy ASSUME you are likely going to put this on a 20" BMX bike and nothing larger. That works well for Shadow Conspiracy because they can skimp on providing the extra links and save on their production costs (for whatever that gains them in profit?). I put this on a 26" cruiser bike with longer chain stays and had to buy two of these chains and rob links from one of them to make a long enough chain. That also scores a big "win" for the coffers at Shadow Conspiracy by requiring that I buy two chains. "Cha-ching" for them - while they laugh at your stupidity and pocket your cash. 2.) This chain is a bit wider than most 1/8" chains. The pins measure about 11 mm with a digital micro caliper. A more standard chain has pins that are about 8.8 mm across. If a slightly wider chain is a problem with clearances on your drive train/sprockets. etc. then you might not want to buy this chain. 3). Since this chain is slightly wider - It won't really work well with the majority of chain tools out there. You likely will need to buy the Shadow Conspiracy Chain tool made especially to work with this wider than average chain. I had one hell of a time getting this chain together/installed with the two normal chain tools I own. 4.) I bought the black model.. the fit and finish is OK/good but it isn't anything special. I'd call it adequate and as expected. 5). Lastly I don't really appreciate the Shadow Conspiracy company. Too much hype and not enough substance. The coffin container was cutesy, but I just see it as "flash in the pan" marketing with zero substance. It is more of a distraction and makes me feel they wasted money and charged me more for a silly coffin shaped container when I really wanted some extra links so the chain would fit my 26" cruiser in one purchase. It would have been extremely helpful if they mention somewhere on their website, this site, or just somewhere that the chains really only have enough links for 20" wheeled bikes. I know that they state the number of links, but for most people, that information is not enough and really doesn't provide enough information. That to me is deception, and trickery.. ... show more
