  • Great Bargain with two games loved!
Purchased used Wii U from Amazon. Seller did a great job in shipping. Items came with retail box. Worked fine. This special edition contains the same items in the box (console, gamepad, HDMI cable, motion sensor etc, as other edition of Wii U package. My son was very excited this Christmas as he got his favorite game, Splatoon. He plays most just that game now. Smash Bros is also one of his favoriates. To me, this was a great bargain, with about 260-270 dollar, you get 17% price off for the console (from new retail version), not mention almost 120 dollar worth of games (2 x 60) for free and the EXACT games my son wanted! This special edition worth every penny. I wish Wii U have more new family oriented games in the future. Recommend! ... show more

  • Four Stars
Great deal. Both games are fun and the system works great as well.

  • WiiU Starter Pack
I have been a loyal Playstation customer for years since the PS1 and I never thought of buying a Wii. In fact, my only Nintendo "consoles" were handheld: the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP. I got this and I am stunned at the value of getting two games and a console for about the same price solely for a console. I recommend buying this bundle if you are considering getting a WiiU. For the console, it is a unique setup of having a Gamepad act as a controller and a second screen. It can be distracting at first but you will get used to it over time. The graphics are sharp, even if the system isn't as powerful as an XBox One or a Playstation 4 but everything is in HD. The console itself is compact and the setup is very easy. One may need extra Gamecube controllers for Smash Bros. but that shouldn't be a problem. One can also play older Nintendo games (NES/SNES, GBA/Color/Advance SP, etc.) via the NIntendo Eshop which immediately filled me with nostalgia. Let's talk about the games bundled with the system. Splatoon is a third person shooter where one plays as squid lifeforms that can take the form of humans. There are online and offline modes but the object is mainly the same: Paint the town with ink! I love this game because of the simplicity of the goal and controls. While it does use motion controls, they can be turned off. Super Smash Bros. for WiiU (or Smash 4) is a platformer fighting game hybrid where the object of the game is to knock the opponent off of the stage. This game is fun to play 1-on-1 but this game really shines when played with friends. Certainly, there is more than enough content to occupy your time (8-player Smash, Online[For Glory, For Fun], Classic, Team, etc.). Don't miss out on this deal! ... show more

  • I've Missed Fun Games
I didn't think I'd like Splatoon, but it is my new favorite game! As far as the Wii U goes in general, I'm a bit mixed about the game pad. It's not too heavy, but the screen is both underutilized and redundant at the same time. Sometimes its used as an interface, and sometimes a second screen. Other times it's just a duplication of the main screen. As long as Nintendo has had the DS and multiple screens, I would imagine that Nintendo and third party developers would have a better idea of how to use a second screen. The resolution is not great either. However, with duplicated screens it makes it possible to play the game on just the game pad with your own sound while the TV is used for other things like movies. Amiibo are fun, but I'm not sure how much I like the idea of needing them for serious game play elements. Collecting them is alright, but I don't have serious dedication to them just yet. Some games give great benefits like extra levels, new features, or cool new gear. Other games simply give you things you can normally collect in the game. Like the game pad, some games utilize these better than others. Pros: Fun games, innovative features in amiibo, sleek design, great community features, gaming on the game pad without taking up the TV. Cons: Game pad not used well in all games, amiibo not used well in all games. ... show more

  • Great bundle
Let me start off by saying that when I ordered this bundle, I DID NOT receive the correct one. Instead, I was given the Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land bundle. I was very disappointed to say the least. I decided to keep the system because I was pretty eager to start playing. However, I DO own these two games so I can give a fair review for the bundle. As for the Wii U in general, I LOVE the system. I have spent countless hours with friends on this thing and I don't regret it. Super Smash Bros and Splatoon are some of the best games for the system so this is a great bundle if you can get your hands on it. Smash is a better game for a sit down session with friends and family whereas Splatoon is better played online with other players. Make sure if you buy it used that you previous owner did not tie his/her nintendo account to the system. By doing this, they claim the digital titles and you won't be able to link them to your account. Also, I'm not sure about Splatoon (although I'm sure this also applies), but Smash is a larger game compared to other WiiU titles. If I remember correctly it's around 16 GB. You may need to purchase an SD card for additional storage since this system only comes with 32 GB. ... show more

  • My son luvs his Wii U and Super Smash Bros!
My son can't get enough of Super Smash Bros! He enjoys the game so much that he hasn't tried any other games. Complexity and slower navigation through the menus get him a little frustrated but he's getting more comfortable with more experience.
