We used to have a Wii but was stolen in 2010 when our home was robbed.. I never knew that the Wii was the one thing my daughters missed mostly out of everything we lost.. then on Aug 28, our house was flooded by Harvey and we lost what little we had remaining...but the girls still talked about how much they missed their Wii back from back years ago (they are 15 & 16 yrs old now)...so in an effort to bring some long overdue happiness back to their lives during this long journey in trying to rebuild our home and normalcy of life, I decided to get them a Wii. It arrived super fast and my girls have been smiling ever since they opened the box. It has brought them closer as sisters and us closer all as a family since we can all play together.     • Know the Risks & Take Responsibility
We don’t know anything about Wiis, Nintendos, PlayStations, etc. Based on our research there appeared to be a 50/50 chance a refurbished unit would work & we didn’t want to spend the extra money on a brand new Wii U. It froze repeatedly when we first got it, and after researching & calling tech support it stopped freezing for a couple of weeks. We were never able to play games on just the game pad. Nonethe less, our 6 & 8 yr olds enjoyed playing on the TV. Having no prior experience with any gaming devices we thought perhaps the biggest issue of freezing has been resolved. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Even though we are now outside the return period & now have an expensive paperweight I still stand by the purchase. We knew the risks of buying a refurbished device & could have returned it earlier based on the issues we had. We made a choice to try & work through them. I recommend a refurbished device for those who understand the risks & are willing to themselves accountable for the choices they make. ... show more

    • Works well, but game pad has issues
The console itself works really well! I haven’t had any issues with games not loading, and there isn’t any major physical damage. Cosmetically the console is pretty banged up- there’s scratches all over the console and the game pad, and some grime under the joysticks. I’ve had the most issues with the game pad. Often it won’t connect with the WiiU, making it near impossible to use it when games require it. Also, after a month of use, the battery is shot, so the game pad is only usable when it’s charging. Overall I’m not super disappointed in the product. I’m glad that I can go back and play older games that I haven’t gotten the chance to play. And I know it’s an older console, and that there’s going to be cosmetic and mechanical issues. ... show more

I’m extremely happy with this purchase. Only reason I didn’t buy the switch is because they didn’t have some of the classics that the Wii U has, like Super Mario bros and super mario 64, even the original Mario cart. I like that I don’t have to have it on the tv screen to be playing it. So people can be using the tv for whatever they want and I can still enjoy all my nostalgia binge. ... show more

    • At first I thought there was going to be some ...
At first I thought there was going to be some technical difficulty but in the end when they said certified refurbished they really meant they fixed the problem and tested it out. So far, I've been playing the WII U for quite some time and there seems to be no problem. Though it it did pains me to hear that they stopped developing the WII U and begun developing the Nintendo Switch and maybe I've bought one of the last few WII U. ... show more

I was wary of getting this because of the tons of mixed reviews. I just want to put in another vote for receiving a perfectly functioning model. Mine works like new and barely has any indication of prior use, safe for a few slightly scratched areas of the gamepad that were not replaced during the refurbishing. I have put many hours on the console and have not yet encountered any issues at all. ... show more

This is my 2nd WiiU order in the past 2 weeks. The Nintendo land game disk was dented and scratched. Which was the whole reason for getting the bundle

    • Almost like new except…
The touch screen was perfect no scratches. Only problem was the power cord was chewed up. No problem, i bought a new one. Also missing the cradle for the touch screen. Also not a problem when the console and game pad look and work perfectly.
