The media could not be loaded. I was very surprised with how different WiFi Extender can be. I had already purchased a lower end extender a while back for my personal needs. I have a building about 30 ft from my hone with no internet service out there. This Extender did the trick. The first Extender I bought did not, it would regularly get warm and need to be reset. It also needed to be installed in the furtherest part of my home by the wall nearest to the building. RockSpace AX1800 PROS: Construction, it’s very sturdy and solid. It has directional antennas that can be moved in a full range of motion. Setup was a breeze. Even after I unplugged it, it saves all the information you have so it boots right back up. You can see that in real time in the video above. Initial setup took less than 5 minutes using the small guide included. The range is great I’m able to get all but 1 signal bar from the aforementioned outside building. Hindered only by walls and roofs, if it was a straight line it’d be max I’m sure. My signal inside my home is max in each room now. The setup allows the extender to be used 2 different main ways. I’m using it as a basic range extender. Unit has been very reliable and held the signal with no need to reset. The unit does not get hot and unreliable like the other brand I had purchased first. CONS: It’s just a little higher priced than other brands but RockSpace is a reliable brand and you DO get what you pay for. The unit is slightly larger so if space is an issue that could be a con. Overall I’d definitely recommend the RockSpace AX1800. I will be getting rid of my original extender and replacing it with the AX1800! ... show more

I was able to set up the extender fairly simply initially. When I got a new router, I could not re-establish a connection with the extender. I've been in tech for more than 20 years, and found neither of connection methods worked. WPS: with extender plugged in less than a meter away, it did not work. Ethernet: IP address provided by Rockspace did not work (192.168.0.254). I chatted with tech support, and she said the only fix was to give her control of my pc. For what should be a "routine" install?!? I asked to simply provide me with a valid link to login to admin, or written step by step instructions. She said that was not possible. I asked "so unless I give you access to my pc, I should just throw this extender away." She replied "yes, that is correct." So extender is in the trash and I'm writing the caution to the rest of you: it *might* work on first install, but never change/upgrade your router or it will not work. And "customer support" is horrible. UPDATE 6/3/21: After posting this review, I was contacted by a representative of rockspace. They offered to replace or refund, and expressed apologies for my experience. I accepted the refund. As mentioned above: initially, the extender seemed to install and work very easily. But when it stopped working, it took this public review to get action. Perhaps they've corrected that issue? Keep looking a recent reviews and see what folks are saying. Because of that follow up, and my belief they're working to improve the customer support, I'm upgrading my review from 1 star to 3 ... show more

    • Great signal output, Easy to setup, but, reduced internet speed (and bandwidth) by over 60%!
Size: AC750 Repeater
Set this up exactly to the instructions and all went smoothly. But, both 2.4 and 5 GHz extensions by this repeater dropped my internet speed (Xfinity) from 235 mbps down to ~75 mbps. Experimented with different locations per instructions and even tested this repeater right next to it, but, no improvement. Signal with this repeater remains excellent throughout my house, but, it is stealing my primary router’s bandwidth terribly, I assume due to being a repeater and having to "relay" the WiFi connection. Updated Firmware is just a dream. This company hasn't had any and the initial version installed on the AC750 sure does need an update to hopefully improve such a substantial loss of bandwidth and reduced connect speeds. I use an Airport Extreme Apple router. It does ery well around the house other than our metal patio room which of course shields a good wifi signal. This was the main purpose to purchase this repeater. Moving the repeater did not improve nor degrade the speed no matter where the repeater was located, per the instructions. Even at only 8 feet away from the router and right next to it, the repeater had the same lousy download speeds. Putting the repeater in sight of our patio room made no improvement either. It was obvious the drops in connect speed could not be improved. I am betting if your internet service is slower than my per your plan, this might NOT degrade speed as much as it did for me. This repeater is rated 750mbps....whatever that means, it sure is not related to the speeds you will get when you add this repeater into your network. Back in the box it went and into my closet. Although my Airport Extreme signal is weak in our metal patio room area, it still got about 200 mbps out there, even with a weaker signal than this repeater had. If they ever do actually offer a Firmware update, maybe I'll try it again! Tech support and their website is useless. Their website details how to update your AC750 Firmware and yet, there is no link exists to do this! Poor product support here, since it seems there are -no- updates to fix product bugs! Other reviewers have complained too about the AC750 dropping their speeds substantially and I know I am not alone. All I can suggest is to try it and return it if it fails to offer any advantage over your current setup, send it back! ... show more
