The WiFi connection is about 500mb/s now. It took a few tries to get it to connect, but i think that was a bad usb port. It comes with a mini flash drive that has the software on it, to set it up. Pretty easy to understand. Took me a bit to get everything right but that was probably human error. WIFI works fine, my WIFI itself is just slow but it's connected now which is what I needed.

I ordered this product because I needed to connect an old desktop to with no WiFi connectivity, to the internet. After receiving this product I confirmed the speed was certainly as advertised. I've been using this product for the past months without any issue. Truly recommended!!

    • For anyone curious about hosting dedicated servers/IP/port forwarding; Great Product
I have purchased two of these products, for two separate computers, and they both work fantastically. Personally, my speeds have increased by 100+ mbps compared to a previous WiFi adapter I had purchased, as long as the device is plugged into USB 3.0. It is important to know that THIS ADAPTER CREATES A SEPERATE IP than whatever IP is assigned to your computer, since it runs through its own LAN utility (I think). For anyone who has port forwarding set up for things such as dedicated servers, you will have to create new ones for the IP assigned to the WiFi device. Ensure the port forwarding/firewall rules you do set up are for the correct IP address, and you can check which IP is assigned through the LAN utility provided with the USB that comes with the product. The device should show up on your router as your computer name with a number attached to it (Ex: Billy's Computer-12), whereas your actual device would just show up as computer name with no number attached to it (Ex. Billy's Computer) My only issue I have noticed is sometimes the device will not turn on, and I have to unplug/plug in the device to get it to turn on again, sometimes even having to change which port I plug in to. This could be an issue with my computers, however it happens with both devices, and the computers have separate motherboards. (ASUS and MSI). Other than that, the setup was incredibly simple, and the company really seems like they care about their products and their customers. Very Satisfied with the product! ... show more

I have a small studio in our basement and decided to test this one with our studio computer. It works! Signal strength is perfect and internet speed is accurate to what we have. Considering the small room it is in, secluded, no windows, and our router is upstairs mid-level, I'd say it works perfect. It allows gigabit speed over Wifi which is exactly what I was hoping for. It did take a little longer than I wanted to arrive but it does work well, I needed it for my old windows XP desktop I use for programming because of the many different ports on it. I never had luck with WiFi adapters in the past so it was nice to get one that worked very very well!
