  • Kinda scared lol
Color: Multi-colored,for 2 dogs
I received them very fast. I live on a farm with LGD pup. We want to use it to keep him from wondering. Everyone says use the training video...I find zero from manufacturer...just ones from users that are helpful. I will admit I am kinda scared to use it. Not sure how strong of a shock I should use. I am scared I will hurt him. There is not much as in instructions included or suggestions on shock levels to use. I do not want tonruin my dog, BUT I need him to stay home. We will start training tomorrow and will update my review. Pray I do not ruin my beautiful Hank ... show more

  • Works Amazing
Color: Multi-colored,for 2 dogs
Our dogs used to run away once or twice a month. We live on 5 acres of unfenced property. They usually stick around, but once in a while they decide to disappear. These collars keep them in our property. We were even able to program the collars soo they can not get to the Chicken coop. We take the collars camping and are able to set a perimeter which allows our dogs to explore while staying relatively close to our camp trailer. ... show more

  • Brilliant concept and very well done
This is such a great concept. No underground fencing to run. No brain module to have to program and hope your wireless or Bluetooth is always working. You can rest easy knowing that gps satellites will always be overhead. I live pretty much surrounded by trees, though not in the woods, so I don’t know how well that would work. But the collar received 12 satellite signals where I am and I was really surprised it locked on to that many. You can probably know that this will lock onto satellites where you are if your gps works. This is very easy to program and understand. I wouldn’t say the instructions were in plain English but they are easy enough to understand and logic out. When turned on, it will take anywhere from 1-3 min for satellites to lock on. It will then display how many. It defaults to a perimeter of 65 feet (20m) to a max of 3200 feet or so (1000m). You can change the distance by 10’s of meters. When you turn this on, you should be in the center of the perimeter you want to meter. Once it locks on, the center point is set and it will alarm any time your pet begins to cross the set boundary. You will have to spend time training your dog just as you would with any electronic fence. My dogs are already trained to E collars so they respond very well to vibration, not shock. I love that you can set this to beep, vibrate and/or shock. One, two or all three can be set. I’ve set it to beep and vibrate (which is loud and strong) and not shock. I have not had it on my dog just yet because I will train them even though they respond to their E collars already. They need to learn the boundary. If you don’t train the boundary this could scare your dog into bolting. I would set this to beep and vibrate during training only. Then for your final walk on leash around the boundary, you could set a mild shock if you believe your dog needs that reinforcement. Mine come running with just a vibration. There are three levels of beep and vibrate, but like 11 levels of shock. This comes with a shock test light which is awesome! The little test light integrates a probe wrench into it as well. Comes with two different probe sizes and little silicon covers for the probes if your dog is too sensitive to the shocks. It comes with a basic buckle collar for the gps. So the one draw back is, you can’t turn this off without having to reset your center point so they recommend that you leave this on, even when charging and only reset every 4-5 days due to boundary drift from the satellite positions. You do not have to turn this completely off and back on for a position reset. If it’s on full screen mode, you just press the power button a short press and it will reset the center position to where you are standing with the collar. It advertises working continuously for 15 hours and it will go to sleep if not used within 5 min and can last up to a max of 2 days in standby. When I begin to use this, I’ll remove it from my dog when she comes in and just plug back in every other day. I plan to maybe turn off and back on once a week and reset my center every 4 days or so. There are no thrills, frills, bells or whistles (beep notwithstanding), just a gps collar with the necessary functions available to you. I’m not sure I’d ever use any sort of electronic fence with a fractious dog. It might scare the dog into bolting across the boundary. What happens if the dog crosses the boundary is, the stim you have set, whether beep, vibration and/or shock, will continue for 16 seconds with a 30 sec pause. It repeats this cycle 3 different times so if your dog bolted, especially if not well trained to understand that re-entering the boundary stops the stim, you will probably lose your dog. The stim stops after 3 cycles but the beeping continues, I guess until the battery is exhausted which will also help you locate your dog. Always makes sure your dog is chipped and never, ever leave the dog in an electric/geofence unsupervised!! I see lost animals every day on Next Door with owners’ hearts breaking. In fact, I also keep gps trackers on my dogs. I could not bear to lose mine. For a well trained dog, this is a simple and brilliant solution for supervised containment. I’ve seen these advertised for 100’s more dollars so this is a bargain. This feel and looks to be very well made with high quality materials. It feels and looks comparable to my Garmin E collars. It crossed my mind to wonder if I have a gps collar on both dogs in the same contained area will they cross interfere, but I don’t believe that’s possible just like if you have two gps systems side by side, they don’t interact. I will likely buy another one of these for my second dog. I love this thing! I’ll report back if I run into any complications that are not obvious to me now. ... show more

  • Be prepared for a daily training session for 1-2 or more weeks before you can depend on the system
There’s a video on how to train your dog so that they don’t freak why not understanding first the warning, vibration in in the morning beeps, getting shocked, and running away! Which is of course what you do not want to have happen! This involves lots and lots of work each day with your dog so that they can pass each training step before you go onto the next. I did some research and even the ones that use the buried wire about 3 inches below the surface require the same training. The dog has to understand the consequences and make the conscious decision that he doesn’t want the final consequence which is the shock. Without that understanding, it just becomes cruelty, and you can lose your dog. Or the dog can become a psychotic mess. Not knowing win it’s going to receive the next shock. The components I received were well-made. The collar is waterproof. BUT, having said that, it’s not supposed to be immersed in water, so you can’t put it on a dog who likes to swim to escape! It also comes with a tester so that you don’t have to shock yourself to find out whether the collar is working or not. It has a little light that lights up. That certainly beats testing it on yourself. If you’re up for the daily consistent training, your hard work will pay off with this system with most dogs. This works in conjunction with a satellite circling above the earth. The satellite actually seems to keep track of where the dogs collar is. And you can set the radius that the dog is allowed from 65 feet to 3281 feet. ... show more
