  • Works well.
Product delivery was good. Easy to install and works great. Good quality build. Only thing include a short 1/2 inch ID flexible line as well for the drain. Only inconvenience.

  • Excellent and Easy to Install
This replaced a 17 year old water softener that had become an unreliable headache to keep functioning. I have very hard water at around 45-50 gpg and this softener does an excellent job. I'm no plumber but I was able to install this myself in a couple of hours (keeping in mind this was a replacement of an old one so the water taps were already in place in my setup). A pair of 3/4 inch sharkbite flex connectors (also available here on amazon) were all I needed to make the connections to my house water system. Also, it could just be me and while it worked immediately, it seemed like it took a good week or two before my water was really soft. But I couldn't be happier now! ... show more

  • Effective and worth while! Had to hire someone to install it for us still though.
The media could not be loaded. It wasn't beginner friendly type of installation so you definitely still need a Professional if you're buying this independently like we did. We live in Colorado and the water in our area is super hard to the point that our showers form stalactite-looking residue within a few weeks so we were in dire need of a water softener. About 8 hours after installation and the water test came back pretty good, so it's pretty fast acting all things considered (see the test pictured). The system itself is pretty hefty, and if you're no professional and need to hire one to help you install, prepare to account for installation costs (personally, we ended up spending an extra $400 bucks on top of buying this system to have it all installed, set-up, and ready for use). Other than that, great choice, especially for bigger homes! We have this for a 5 bedroom/3.5 bathroom house and it's a good size to fit our needs. ... show more

  • Outstanding customer service, product literature could be better
The softener works well and was easy to install. The setup, however, could be better because the instructions are generic across a number of their systems, e.g. for metered and non-metered systems. It would be better to have instructions for a metered system separate from the un-metered ones, or even for a specific unit. Also, the flow meter on my unit was set incorrectly to the wrong type - they should check this at shipping time. Customer support at APLUS is really excellent because the phones are answered by knowledgeable people. They quickly told me how to correct the flow meter setting. After that the meter was still off by about 50%, very weird, but Torrey and Doug were very patient and helpful, even offering to send me a new flow meter at their cost. Finally, it turned out that I had another water line open that was bypassing the softener, so I was getting roughly a 50/50 mixture because of my own error. Once I turned that valve off, the flow meter worked accurately. I mention this little problem because it shows how committed aplus is to great customer service. I highly recommend them. ... show more

  • Working as expected
I did the research, and saved some money installing this system myself. Was pretty easy DIY with some basic skills and knowledge. So much info on YouTube and support is available with a phone call if needed. I can't comment on that because I didn't need it but I know it's available. Arrived in reasonable time, maybe could have been packaged a little better but nothing was damaged. All the components were there and in working order. I haven't had any issues although it's only been up and running for three weeks. I don't foresee any either. It is a very heavy package and recommend help as the tank with resin in it is upwards of 180lbs. Noticeable difference in my hard water after a short time. My hardness was 46 and now according to the strips they provided a zero. I will be taking a sample in to retest at cost to see if that is accurate after a little longer time in use. I will update when that info is available. ... show more

  • Awesome water softener
It was super easy to install. Love that the programming walks you through most of the settings you need, and how to calculate the right settings. I wish it had an exhaustive list of every code and option, but I was able to find what I needed with a quick google search… so, no big deal. It’s super easy on the salt and does an awesome job of providing softened water. It’s also not a water hog itself. ... show more

  • good customer service, but this softener is high maintenance.
I installed this softener in Feb of 2022. Soon after, I replaced the head unit as it had started to leak. company was helpful, but parts were not free. there is supposed to be a countdown clock on the display showing how many days til regeneration. Mine never worked. Since replacing head unit, no problems. Soft water, all good. Today, I noticed the unit is again leaking from the head. Emailed the company. Expect I will be replacing this unit soon. 23 months of soft water for over $900. Not a good deal. ... show more

  • If you're even thinking about it........BUT IT!!!
We purchased this system for our brand new house that was being built at the time. In our area we havr ridiculously hard water, this system has worked wonders. Installation was very easy. We did have a leak develop at the bypass valve and at a later date one develop at the brine tank. Both times I reached out to the company and had the new part within 2 days free of charge. If you are at all considering it, buy it. ... show more
