  • Easy install, works well, no leaks, good output
More output volume than the two-filter system it replaced from the same mfg. I suppose the higher output is thanks to the reservoir tank. I needed REVERSE OSMOSIS to remove fluoride due to sensitivity. Most of the reverse osmosis systems look hugely complicated and have what looks like a dozen other cartridges. I had a moment of insight: Simple is good. This system has the core components of reverse osmosis filtration. No add-ons. I'm sure some or all of those other cartridges in the competitor's systems are actually good and valuable. Having done under-sink filtration for a decade or two I know it's easy to forget to change something. I like having one, okay two things to change. Write the date to change the filter on the most visible filter end cap. Write, " CHANGE filters 1 & 3 on 6-1-2022" so the instruction is complete. Save the 2032 button battery they include for something useful, but not for the cute little blinking light that counts down 6 months. It's not foolproof. It's not even waterproof. It's important to write down the full instruction so you know and anyone else will know exactly what needs to be done when. Then you can confidently forget about the whole filtration thing until you look under the sink for some other reason. Note for the newbie: When placing new filters you don't have to turn off the water. This system is very efficient in preventing leaks when changing filters. The trick, and it is a trick, and it is not written explicitly, is this: 1. When removing filters twist in one movement and you will have no leak. 2. When seating the new filter, push very lightly up or back into the fitting. When the filter just touches the fitting stop pushing. Now adjust your grip so you can turn it a good half turn. Maintain VERY light contact pressure and twist into place in one movement. This works VERY well. You might have a teaspoon of water to dab up. As a practical joke, this could be fun. Pretend to be helpful and read the instructions out loud for someone who is changing the filter. "Simply push the new filter cartridge directly into the fitting as hard as you can and hold it for 10 seconds." ... show more

  • The water tastes Amazing.
I was surprised how well this product has meet my expectations and then some. I bought this because we have heavy minerals and added fluoride to our city water system. I have been buying reverse osmosis water from stores for years, a huge inconvenience to maintain 3 and 5 gallon water jugs around the kitchen. The installation was pretty straightforward. If mounting this under your kitchen sink like I did, it helps to 1. have the space cleared out and 2. do a trial run with everything in place before installing to make sure it all fits where you want it. I wasn't a fan of 2 things: drilling a hole into my drain pipe (which is required if you don't have the optional drain pipe attachment) and I didn't like the plastic water line T valve. Mine is brass and didn't want to replace it with plastic so that required a trip to the hardware store to buy a fitting to accommodate the 1/2 water line. Once installed, you have let the RO tap run for almost 24hrs. Something they don't tell you is, while the tap is running, you will hear water draining down the drain pipe (the one you drilled a hole into). This is normal. Every time you use the water from the RO tap you will hear water drain. Depending on the amount of water used from the RO tap, the more water the longer the draining sound. This is all normal and is part of the waste water removal. This set up takes up considerably less space than 5 five gallon water jugs laying around the kitchen and the on demand reverse osmosis water is so convenient. All in all, I recommend this to anyone wanting reverse osmosis water. And the water tastes amazing. ... show more

  • Exact replacement
We just replaced our 12 year old system. Working great. We did buy a larger tank than what comes in this system. We use a lot of RO water.

  • Works quite well for what it is
While there are better products out there now in the same price range, I didn't want to mess up my previous six-year-old installation, so I bought an exact replacement. Installation is not particularly difficult as long as you have the room for it, but it still raises a few challenges that might not be easy to tackle for the home technician. (Look at the manual online before buying.) At the same time, I'm quite certain that all RO filters of the kind must be installed in the same way. The ppm never goes below 16 with this, but it always goes down to 16, usually from around 260. The taste is a whole lot better. Notice that this is not certified to remove PFAS, PFOS, PFOA, or PTFE, but it still probably does the job. Prepare for having to replace the drum about every three years. The faucet has a battery in it that is supposed to indicate the time for replacement, but it doesn't measure anything, except perhaps time. I didn't even care to install a new battery after the first one stopped working. Replacing the filters is a breeze; you don't even have to turn off the waterline. We have a whole-house carbon filter, too, so we replace the RO and the carbon filters at the same time (12-18 months, depending on usage). Normally, the carbon filter is supposed to be replaced every six months and the RO filter once a year. ... show more
