This machine is quiet. The quietest I've had. It works pretty well for the rating also. The vertical air discharge acts like a ceiling fan and makes for good room air circulation. The controls are bright, and then dim to half bright after a period of inactivity. According to the literature, this machine only consumes around 360 watts. I run mine on low fan so maybe even less for me. The alarm for full bucket sounds initially and then leaves you alone. Small detail but won't wake you up like others I've had with incessant beeping. The main cons for me- 1. The fan has no auto function, you pick hi or lo 2. The fan never shuts off, even when desired humidity is reached 3. The compressor in mine really only shuts off about 5% below the set humidity level, so it runs more continuously than others I've had. 4. The collection tank is small. I measured its useful capacity (to the triggered shut-off point) at approximately 0.9 gallons. I only run mine at night for around 7-8hrs set to 55% and it mostly fills up by morning. 5. Small detail, maybe just mine has it but my tank has a spot for a handle, but no handle. It is missing entirely. Not a big deal. Conclusion- I hope it lasts over a year at least. If they made one of these as a deliberately long-lasting version with a 5yr warranty for 3x the price, I'd buy 2 today! ... show more

I have had this installed for several months now in my basement and find it to be durably built, quiet and effective. Water can be collected in the built in tank, or drained constantly by a hose.

I purchased this unit because it had a pump function and could utilize a garden hose to drain the water. In fact the manual says the pump will work for 15 feet above the level of the unit. I had a plumber install a garden hose connection to my drain pipe and hooked up the hose following the instructions and diagram outlined in the manual. However the bucket continues to fill and the pump will not evacuate the water. When I sent a copy of the instructions contained within the manual to the company, they stated that the garden hose will only drain downward into a catch basin despite my including a picture of the hook up outlined in the manual itself. They have yet to respond further. I purchased this unit simply for its pump function. I will add that the unit functions very well if you feel like emptying the bucket every day. However, I would not purchase it if you need one that pumps. ... show more

I have hot humid attic that’s spray foamed insulated with 0 ventilation. I purchased another brand that I returned because of draining issues ( not Honeywell) and it only had 24 hour timer. This baby has Wi-Fi and a schedule you can set online with Honeywell App and never have to go into a crawl space or attic to check on it because of weekly scheduling. It drains real good with gravity drain but you have to buy longer hose because only comes with 3 foot hose. I got 16 ft garden hose and connected it to A/C drain and just let it do it’s thing. Keeps attic right at 50% humidity very quickly and it’s Quiet too. I believe this is Best one on Amazon in my opinion. Never had dehumidifier before so I am very happy with purchase. It’s well made (Honeywell ) and lightweight too with carrying handle . No leaks so far and quiet as a mouse. Get one and you won’t be disappointed. ... show more

Edit 1 To clarify comments below: They respond to emails within several hours but I don’t find the mode of communication efficient for setting up to work the way I anticipated. It auto shuts off but not on if set to basement or bedroom Original post The good news is it pulled a lot of humidity out of the air. However, worst customer service ever.!! The telephone number they list both on the warranty and in the instruction manual is only for major appliances. It is not for home appliances or what they call Comfort appliances. Customer Service will answer the phone and then tell you to provide an email address and they will contact you by email. My unit is working. I can’t get the settings right because the book is inconsistent with what some of the descriptions were on the website as well as Comments made by other customers. information in the instruction manual is nonexistent. I also think it’s very loud. There is no one to ask anything because they want to check my set up and I know my set up is correct. I have not decided if I am going to keep this or not , I replied to their email that I need help understanding the settings not set up. Let’s see if anyone calls me or if I can get it to work the way it supposed to. Three stars because it does reduce humidity. However, I will also say it did raise the temperature in the room by 2° so instead of reducing my AC usage, my AC keeps going on even more frequently. I’m in the south . it would be lovely if someone from the manufacture would call me and help me adjust the settings to way I was led to believe it would work for exam, the instruction manual says it will reflect the temperature it doesn’t… the instruction manual says something about using Wi-Fi settings but I cannot find the Bluetooth option on the unit. The instruction manual says you can adjust the humidity level and that there were three modes, continuous bedroom and basement. one person I spoke to on the phone before they said, they don’t provide tech-support on the phone, said humidity settings are only when it’s on continuous that basement and bedroom a preset and cannot be changed. There is an auto start feature. Does that mean that when the unit shuts off because it achieve the desired humidity level and it raises, it will auto start? no one can answer that and that’s not happening in this unit so I do not know if this unit is not working properly or whether the instruction manual is incorrect ... show more
