  • Powerful motor
Style: 23 Inch
We are excited to use this corded electric snowblower with LED lights. The assembly was a breeze, and it is lightweight making it easy to maneuver. Although we haven’t had a chance to use it yet as there is still no snow, my husband tested it out to see if it’s working, and was really impressed with the motor’s power. He is actually looking forward to some snow so we can put it to work. Since we only need to clear our driveway and walkway, the cord length is manageable for us, and we have heavy duty extension cords just in case. The compact storage is another bonus, we can easily tuck it away in the garage when it’s not in use. We’re optimistic about the snowblower and can’t wait to see how well it performs once the snow arrives. ... show more

  • A great alternative to gas powered
Style: 23 Inch
I tested and reviewed an electric snowblower last year and I was pleasantly pleased at how well that one performed; it was powered by batteries, and wasn't nearly as powerful as this one. This is the "monster of all electric blowers". I put it together and turned it on and was blown away (pun intended) by how fast and furious that motor spins. I was a little disappointed that it is not battery powered, but they'd need a huge battery to make it go like that and it would run out of juice before my driveway and sidewalk was completed (like the other one sometimes does). There's a hook to attach the extension cord to, so it won't get unplugged; you only need a cord long enough to reach whatever you want to blow. I like that the chut is sealed so that ice and snow can't bind it up like my gas powered blower does. It does, however, have a few shortcomings that I need to point out. First, the lights aren't very bright and they are only one when the blower is engaged. With all of the technology available through LEDs, they could have added lights that light up your whole yard (I have flashlights that are 10 times brighter). It's also silly that the lights are only on when the blower is engaged; if you need lights to see, you need to see when not blowing snow as well. I also see a lot of opportunities for quick wear and tear. There isn't much of a skid plate and it is all plastic and you can't adjust it. Before I had my driveway repaved, I was glad that my gas snowblower's skid plate depth was adjustable for the cracks. This unit will come to a screeching halt if you bump into a crack. I have to wonder what happens when it picks up a rock or branch that is bigger than the gap between the spinning blades and the housing; with as fast as they are turning, something bound to break. My gas one has shear pins, but this doesn't. We haven't had any snow here yet, and we might not have it for months yet, so I wrote this from my perspective as someone who has used both electric and gas snowblowers and what I saw when I fired it up. If I have any major revelations once I start using it in snow, I'll update this review. ... show more

  • Hopefully Good Investment for Corner Lot
Style: 18 Inch
It's still summer as I write this so I haven't had a chance to try out this snow blower in actual snow and will update my review once I have. I live in a climate that gets some snow but not a ton. Like many, I am responsible for keeping the sidewalks in front of my home clear of snow and ice during the winter. Since I have a corner lot, I'm responsible for more sidewalk than most of my neighbors. Shoveling it can waste many hours on a good snow day and leave me with a sore back. This snow machine was priced right for me given the occasional nature of the task at hand, and I'm glad it's electric and I won't be caught without gas at a time where the roads are just as bad as my sidewalk. The manual and assembly are straightforward--similar to attaching the handle to a new lawn mower. The footprint is slightly bigger than I expected but still tucks away into the corner of a garage or shed. I can already tell this will not only benefit me but a few senior neighbors. ... show more

  • Seems Fine For Light-Duty Usage
Style: 18 Inch
I'm a fairly handy DIYer, and this took a little less than an hour to assemble given the helpful included instructions. I can't comment on performance or durability since there currently is no snow to test. However, the quality seems good, and once assembled, the unit starts, runs and sounds fine. Handle height is adjustable and comfortable. The two bright LED headlights are a welcome feature for night or early morning use. The snow chute adjustment handle feels a bit clunky to rotate, but works well enough to position the chute throughout an approx 180 degree range. The unit is lightweight, so the handle, wheels, housing, etc. aren't nearly as solid as beefy gas models, but should be durable enough if not abused. Electric snowblowers typically can't handle deep or heavy/wet snow as well as more robust gas versions, and this likely is no exception. The rubber-tipped steel auger probably will be durable enough unless you bash it against solid ice, concrete, etc. But for light-duty use on powdery snow, or multiple passes on shallow depths over the course of a storm, this is much more compact, convenient and lighter than dealing with a gas model. Note that the longer the extension cord used, the beefier gauge it must be, and the detailed user manual provides a useful guide. I have a long driveway with large turnaround area that needs to be kept clear for deliveries, but snowfall here is infrequent and generally not deep. So this is a good compromise versus having to deal with stale gas, clogged carburetors, and other maintenance, since it likely will sit unused for a couple or more years between storms, yet start right up when needed. ... show more

  • Lightweight and maneuverable, Dual LED, Limited range due to cord.
Style: 18 Inch
This snow blower offers plenty of power to tackle moderate snowfalls. The motor runs smoothly and delivers consistent performance without the need for gas or oil. Weighting in at only about 35 pounds, this snow blower is very easy to maneuver. The 18-inch wide clearing path is ideal for smaller driveways and sidewalks. The lights are bridge and provide ample visibility in low-light conditions, making it easier and safer to operate when it's dark outside. Since this is a corded snow blower, you're limited by the length of your extension cord. Depending on your property size, managing the cord can be a bit of a hassle, especially when maneuvering around obstacles. ... show more
