I tried to match the color rendition in the pic. In anycase, I recently ripped out the 25-year-old halogen fixtures that were all corroded, two in each room x 2 rooms, and replaced them with these fixtures. The new fixture's bases were slightly smaller than the old ones, but generally speaking the result looked very good with 75W 2500K LED bulbs. Two do a good job lighting up the room, so I'm a happy camper. Retrofitting the new fixtures did not require any special skill (other than the 'don't kill yourself' skill). Ground, hot, neutral. The mount was basically the same so it just screwed into the existing in-wall backing and was straight-forward. It looks wonderful. -Matt ... show more

Nothing about these are universal. By the time I finally got it installed the screws to hold the light in place stick out 1/2 inch farther than the sliver balls cover up. It was ridiculous. This is a sturdy light fixture, feels high quality. In the dark shot, it had a low wattage bulb in it, thus the weak brightness. I supplied a higher wattage bulb and it lit the room up pretty well. I bought two of these, one for each office in my fixer-upper. Satisfied.
