  • Reliable Performance and Trusted Quality: WD Red Pro NAS 14TB Internal Hard Drive
Capacity: 14TB Style: Red Pro
I recently added the Western Digital 14TB WD Red Pro NAS Internal Hard Drive to my home NAS system, and it has proven to be a stellar addition to my storage setup. The drive lives up to the "Pro" in its name, providing reliable performance and ample storage capacity for my needs. First and foremost, the drive itself operates quietly, a feature that is appreciated in any home setup. While the housing I chose for the drive could use a bit of improvement, the internal workings of the WD Red Pro drive are where it truly shines. It seamlessly integrates into my NAS system, delivering consistent and efficient performance. Setting up a home NAS system with these drives was a breeze, even for someone with basic knowledge of storage systems. The user-friendly nature of the WD Red Pro series makes it accessible for those looking to establish emergency backups for crucial family information or simply expand their storage capabilities. Having opted for a total of 4 drives for my NAS, the storage capacity has proven more than sufficient for my data needs. The reliability and consistency of WD drives have been a constant in all my systems over the years, and the WD Red Pro series is no exception. It's a trusted brand that excels in the field of storage solutions. In conclusion, the Western Digital 14TB WD Red Pro NAS Internal Hard Drive is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a high-capacity, reliable storage solution. With the ease of setup and the brand's proven track record for quality products, it's a solid investment for both enthusiasts and those looking to secure their family's crucial information. I highly recommend WD Red Pro drives for anyone in need of professional-grade storage performance. ... show more

  • WD quality drive
Capacity: 4TB Style: Red Plus
Purchased two. Both installed, though waiting on another SATA cable to get the second one set up. Easy install, and very quiet while running. So far working very well on an older Lenovo desktop system. No problems being picked up by Linux install. Solid; Western Digital continues to provide quality products. ... show more

  • Reliable and good performance
Capacity: 18TB Style: Red Pro
I’ve purchased six of these this year and they’re all running fine with no problems whatsoever. The CMR drives perform better than the (deceptively mislabeled) SMR drives they replaced. I believe these are not helium filled, so they should last longer than the higher-capacity drives that are. I like the five-year warranty on the Red Pro drives, so I’ve been buying lots of them for the past decade or so. There has been some odd price fluctuation with these, with them starting out below $300 each, and rising sharply through the year. Normally, IT products decline in price over time, so I can only assume that this was caused by high demand. ... show more

  • 8TB and zero bad clusters. 220 MB/s read & write
Capacity: 8TB Style: Red Pro
After a lengthy scan using WD's recommended own Data Lifeguard Diagnostic cluster scan (took several hours), it found 0 bad clusters. Pretty darn good for an 8TB drive. 220 MB/s r&w via CrystalDiskmark. The drive is slightly more noisy than other 5400 rpm drives, but that's to be expected.

  • Love the product - Amazon is the problem
Capacity: 8TB Style: Red Plus
I love the product. I have been running WD reds in my personal NAS' for years and have never had a drive fail. My problem is with Amazon. The last three drives I ordered arrived dead and I blame Amazon NOT Western Digital. Amazon is literally grabbing a hard drive off the shelf, slapping a shipping label on it, and putting it in the mail. These are fragile devices that should have proper packaging. The HDD's I have had delivered with proper cushioning have had no problem. Bottom Line; good product, bad Amazon ... show more

  • Silent, Reliable, Affordable
Capacity: 8TB Style: Red Plus
Not much is needed to explain, a drive is a drive. This one is very well priced, silent, reliable, and integrates into my Synology Ds224+ with ease. Running two 8TBs in Raid 1 and very happy.
