    • Rechargeable batteries don't work!
Overall, I like this wall sconce. It somewhat resembles a hard-wired bronze wall sconce I have in my RV and I had a corner that needed a little more light and this wall sconce didn't clash with the hard-wired one. So I bought it. The size was just right and it put off a nice amount of light, not blaring but a nice soft light. I didn't mind the plastic shade either because the color was a soft cream and matched the other. Now. The cons. I really really wish I'd known before I bought it that it wouldn't work with rechargeable batteries. The light, although led, seems to have a tendency to go through batteries fairly fast, it appears. Not good. I've used it for approximately 3-4 hours a day now for a couple of weeks and it's already eaten the first set of AA's. That seems excessive to me. This is why it gets a 4-star instead of 5. Or maybe I need to adjust my expectations? I really wish there was a solution to somehow convert this....?? ... show more

    • Don't Work with Most Rechargeable Batteries
These lamps won't run on standard rechargeable batteries. I wish I'd spotted the review that pointed this out before purchasing. Anything in my house that needs batteries uses rechargeables. These take 3 batteries apiece, and I'm not chucking 6 batteries in the trash on a regular basis. Edit: I found that true 1.5v high capacity rechargeable AA batteries will work in this lamp. So far I've only found one company selling them - the EBL 3300mWh 1.5v AA batteries. The bad news is they cost almost as much as the lamps themselves for a 4-pack, even though they're highly rated. I won't revise my rating, because I encounter VERY few appliances that don't work with standard rechargeable batteries. Most flashlights are brighter than these lamps and don't have this problem. ... show more

Wow I was astonished how much light comes out of them I wanted them for my sunroom they are perfect I highly recommend them to anyone. Friends are asking where the electric cord I said they are battery powered blew their mind. Love them thank you.

Really surprised by how well these work. They lights are very light, cheap plastic, but look good and work great (so far). I had to fight with the battery contacts a bit (didn't want to make contact) when I installed them and again at the first battery change. These worked perfectly for our situation with not wanting to mar the headboard and not wanting electrical cords showing. Command strips worked for us. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised at the amount if light these give off! Added bonus, you can take the brightness down a notch with a click of the switch. I took off one start cause it is made from a plastic that is kind of cheap looking, but these will definitely do the job needed!

So i have a few areas in my home that are dark once the sun starts to set, and I've been looking for something to add some ambient lighting for those areas. Yes, I have ceiling lights in these two areas that are pictured, but I wanted something I could leave on all the time without having to constantly turn on and off a light switch. My search brought me to these and WOW! The light that these give off is more than I expected. As you can tell from my pictures, the first one is no light (and you can see how dark it is), 2nd pic is on brightest setting, 3rd pic is lowest setting. I've had these for a week now, and have turned them on the lowest setting and just let them turn off automatically with the 4 hr timer (works perfect because I turn them on about 7:30p and they're off after I've gone to bed). They are super easy to install, and I didn't use the provided screws, I just used a nailed and hammered it into a wall location, and the scone sits perfectly flush against the wall (I also have wood walls, so no anchors needed.. but then again, these are relatively light weight, so even on sheet rock I don't think you'd need anchors). If I could suggest an improvement, it would be that the lights would automatically turn on every 20 hours and then turn off after 4 hrs (I had a wall sconce like this before, it was more of a tiffany shade, but sadly I gave it away a long time ago). Based on the 50 hour run time, and I am using these daily, I expect to change out the batteries about every 3 weeks or so... I'll give an update. ... show more
