  • Hot Garbage: Earthblood
Style: PlayStation 5
Imagine, if you will, a tutorial level in a mid-tier early 2000s stealth game. Now, picture yourself playing that level over and over again in succession for a ten hour campaign. I won’t ramble about all of this game’s failings (since there are too many to adequately expound upon - the simple combat and frail enemies stood out the most), but I will tell you to avoid wasting your money and time. UPDATE: I went back and tried to do a 100% completion run and had the very first side-quest glitch out on me. Now I’m four hundred different types of sad. ... show more

  • If you really want to know, rent it first.
Style: PlayStation 5
I was so excited about this game. This game is not PS5 worthy. The graphics are indicative of the PS2 in quality. The cut scenes are nice but that's it. If you're looking for PS5 quality in all areas, the game is not it. It does not make use of the power the PS5 offers.

  • I Heart Werewolves
Style: Xbox Series X
As a kid, I remember renting Werewolf for NES and I was enamored with it. When I saw this, although not familiar with the tabletop game, I had to buy. I just am a huge werewolf fan. I love them for some strange reason. I am about 2 and a half hours in on Series X. First, the bad. The character models on NPCs are a little rough. Odd glassy eyes—strange animation—enemies are kind of dumb and you can pretty much exploit the dumbness and wipe out an entire facility without them catching your scent...get it. But, I kind of didn’t care. I kind of loved that. And then I started swapping between wolf form and man and loved the smoothness of it—the little particles that shoot off and flake away. And then I became a werewolf and fell in love. You kind of just slash around in a ball of fury—flying around, ripping idiots apart—and I can see how that can get old over a long story, but right now—I am enjoying myself. It brings to mind Splatterhouse for PS3–not gold tier, but jump in and shut off your brain and I think there is some fun to be had here! ... show more

  • Just Not Good
Style: PlayStation 5
The formula for Werewolf consists of- sneak into a place, turn into a Werewolf, and kill everybody- including attacking your own friends. The issue is the stealth is no fun at all. The crossbow is lame. and the brief moments of fun rampaging enemies as a werewolf don't last. The graphics are ok, but not next gen by any means. The story is bad and it tries to get you to care about people when you don't know much about them, and the voice acting + script are pretty bad. Overall I would pass on this game. ... show more

  • Short button masher
Style: PlayStation 4
If you're looking for a nuanced story line or innovative game play, this game isn't it. The game play is simplistic and the story is cliched and predictable. There is also nothing in the way of replayability, there are superficial choices, but they don't really mean anything. That doesn't mean the game isn't fun. It is fun, if a bit repetitive. You can play it like a stealth game if you want or you can run into every situation as a 10 foot tall furry rage monster and turn a room's occupants into raspberry jam. The big problem I have is the game is VERY short. If you run through aggressively, you can probably complete the game in 6 hours or so. If you go the stealth route, maybe 8-10 hours. If price is an issue for you, I'd wait a few months for the price to come down. It's definitely not worth the $50 their asking right now. ... show more

  • FOUR STARS JUST BECAUSE IT IS A WEREWOLF GAME, BUT ALAS NOT A GOOD ONE!
Style: PlayStation 4
This game is the product of someone who does not really understand the depth of the werewolf lore. First this is mostly a stealth game so if you hate stealth games I'd suggest strongly to look elsewhere. This werewolf is timid in that he sneaks everywhere. If you thought you would be laying siege to the town like the blood thirsty but civilized vampire in Vampyr think again. Here you are battling for the environment and against a corporate polluter. I won't go further because it is not worth it. The plot is razor thin ill conceived and boring. You never get to rage like a true wild man. You never get to slash the heck out of bad guys. The people you kill die compliantly like lemmings. I felt like I was killing hoards of androids. The big tough guy main character is sort of meek and low energy not in the good way. The game is serviceable and if you love werewolves as I do you will find any opportunity to live out one's werewolf fantasies fulfilling. This game scratches the I want to be a werewolf itch but falls far short of the true snarling blood thirsty, slash-em up crazy adventure this could have and should have been. This is the werewolf game Mr. Spock from Star Trek would have produced if asked to do so. The werewolf in this adventure is in every way a true shifter, but he is de-clawed, defanged and impotent. Don't get me wrong, this game fed my werewolf fix in gaming, I just wish it were as good as it could have been and should have been if anyone making it had truly cared about the werewolf lore and subject matter. ... show more

  • It's not worth the price
Style: PlayStation 4
I'm not saying this is a bad game but, it's not worth this much. There are ten year old games with better graphics, better character movement, better voice acting, better dialogue...etc. This game also pre-supposes that you are well versed in World of Darkness and the Garou. I've forgotten a lot over the years and may need to do some research to catch up. I'm hoping that, as I get into the game, it will get better. For right now, the lack of quality of it makes it hard to keep focus. Also, where in the world does one input the code for the extras? ... show more
