This was my second try with a waist trainer. The sizing seems to be all over the place with these things. The first one I got was waaaay too big. For this one, according to the size chart I could have gotten a medium or large but I just went with my street size, which is medium. I think that was the right call. It fits on the widest hook setting, but that's fine because whole point is for it to be tight. I like to have the option to go tighter if I want or if I lose weight. It's definitely an experience putting it on. You start at that top and you are like hoo boy where is this belly going to go? But if you just do one hook at a time it will close. I got it to wear under form fitting dress & I think it will be great for that. It definitely more gives support than any kind of elastic shapewear which I find kind of useless. At least for me - I don't have a lot of excess weight at the waist but I have a lower tummy / uterus pooch. Fupa if you will. And that thing is resistant to spandex. ... show more

I actually got this to see if I could train my ribs back down after being pregnant with my daughter 7 years ago.... yea it's been a long time but why not give it a try. I usually struggle with finding things small enough because my measurements are 31-23-35 103lbs 5'3, but this is tight! I love it. I do actually wish it was just a tad more boned or tighter or stronger on the rib area where I want it. I honestly wasn't sure what was up or down on this so I just put it on. I put it on the tightest on ribs bc that's where I want it and then looser as I go down because I don't want it that tight on my hips. Over time wearing it like this will likely warp it so I advise wearing it at same notch all the way down. It does feel really good on my back. And still pliable and comfortable. Material is pretty think but not thin enough to wear under something thin or tight. It will show through. Like all these itcwill definitely get hot if you wear it in summer heat which means it will also smear and streak any fake tan you've got on, just FYI. ... show more

If you have short torso, this one is perfect. My waist is 30 inches and got a medium. It stretches out well and provided good support. I think a L would be too big for me.
