My cats really like this food but unfortunately, buying online is a problem. I think the cans go through too many temperature changes in transit and they end up being a weird texture and dried out. And about half the cans or more are dented every time they arrive. NEVER feed your cats dented cans of food. There is a risk of botulism which can make them extremely ill. In short, don't avoid this product, just avoid buying it online. My cats have sensitive bellies and do well with this food when it is fresh. ... show more

This food redeemed our cat’s health! Overnight our 3 year old, high energy, food motivated cat wouldn’t eat. This turned in to 2 months of food battles, weight loss, and and vet bills. Ultimately we were told “nothing is wrong with him” and our vet was out of ideas and prescription recipes to try. Out of frustration I consulted a cat nutritionist. She recommended we start with this chicken gravy flavor by Wellness. It worked well for a number of cats she treated before with same undetermined food sensitivities. We already had tried multiple brands of high quality and high price tag protein/grain free food, so we weren’t exactly optimistic This food fixed everything! Within 3 days he was eating normal and in a month he gained back the 2 pounds he lost. We still dont know what it was about the other brands that bothered him because ingredients are so similar. I bought the turkey, salmon and chicken ones. The chicken one doesn't seem to have as much gravy in it as the other two, but I put a small amount of water in the can and mix it up and that makes it better. Been feeding this for about 3 months and the cat still likes it... and he's a picky eater. He prefers the small minced size of the pieces.. which are roughly like tapioca or large rice grains? Food is quite moise, but not much loose liquid.

I've been buying the Wellness minced chicken for my cat for a couple of years now. But sometimes last year (2022) the product started varying a LOT from one case to the next, to the point that my cat wouldn't eat it. Then we had a couple of "good" cases where the color, texture, and aroma seemed more like what we expected. Now, another weird batch. It's like it's not even the same recipe - everything is different. So again, I've spent almost $70 on food that my cat normally LOVES, and she won't go near it. I trusted this brand but am not sure how to feel about it anymore. OH, also... I sent them an email inquiring about the formula last year when it happened the first time. Zero response. My almost-feral shelter cat has gained weight (he needed to) since we discovered Wellness. Even though this most recent case of minced tuna dinner had more carrots in it than usual, Max adapted right away, and I’m glad because the case of food couldn’t be returned.
