  • Nice charger from a reputable company
Style: Charger Type: Plug-In
When it comes to EV chargers, I strongly believe you don't want to try to save a couple bucks by going with a no-name manufacturer. Your car is a big investment, and, assuming you're planning on charging your car inside or next to your house, your house is an even bigger investment. While it's rare, bad things can happen when you're charging an EV because there's a lot of electricity involved. This charger comes from a large, known, reputable electric device manufacturer, so I'm confident that it was engineered and manufactured with quality and safety top of mind. And the charger feels like a quality item. The cables are super beefy, the plastic parts that you touch feel durable. The charger comes with a docking station for the plug and cable, along with anchors to be used in mounting the charger and the docking station to the wall, but those anchors are only useful if you are mounting this to a concrete or cement block wall; if you want to install this on conventionally framed walls, you'll need to supply the screws to lag this into the wall studs. This charger is pretty no-frills. There is no Wifi connected app, no Bluetooth, no nothing. Just plug it into the wall, plug it into the car and it starts charging. There's a basic three color light on the unit that indicates the charger status (there's a sticker on the side of the charger with basic info on the light, but it would have been nice if they gave you a sticker you could put on the wall next to the charger to help you decode the status indicator light where it would be more visible and could provide more detailed info on the charger status light), but that's it (of course your car may provide additional info but that's separate from this charger). There's also what looks to be an RJ45 jack on the bottom of the charger between the two cables (it's covered by a screw-on cap), but I can't find any information that says what it is for. Perhaps for troubleshooting/diagnostics or for future features? Would have been nice if they included information on that. For someone who doesn't want to deal with apps, etc. this could be a great option. As I've already indicated, this isn't the cheapest charger out there because it's from a reputable, large company. If this fits your bill, great. There are, however, other reputable companies offering Level 2 chargers with more bells and whistles like real-time charging data via a mobile app and the ability to schedule charging times to take advantage of lower time of use electricity rates and more flexibility to switch between plug-in and hardwire with the same unit, at prices that are comparable or even a little lower than this charger, so I would encourage all buyers to do their research. That said, simplicity can be a selling point. In a perfect world, this charger would be able to be converted from a plug-in to a hardwire charger to give purchasers more flexibility (my strong preference is for hardwired, but I ended up with the plug-in version). It would also be nice if the charging cable that goes to the car was a little bit longer, again to give purchasers a little more flexibility in where they mount this. ... show more

  • Great for charging at home
Style: Charger Type: Plug-In
240v plug level 2 charger, it has a 18 feet so its plenty of slack for what I would say is most situations. I did have an electrician add a new circuit just for this charger ( if you have a 40 amp for your dryer or other large appliances you may be able to unplug that to use then as needed but if you want to be able to just plug and go adding a circuit just for the charger is the way to go when possible.) and so far I have been happy with it I have complaints it seems to be charging just fine, I have solar at home so this only benefits me more with not having to leave the house to charge else where. Overall a solid charger would be recommended. ... show more

  • Solid EV Charger
Style: Charger Type: Plug-In
This Pass & Seymour Plug-in Level 2 EV Charger is a solid choice to charge my Volvo XC90 T8 and other EVs. I tested it on a 1430 dryer outlet using an adapter, but I plan to get a 240V line installed in my garage soon to provide a more solid connection. The charger has a thick ten-gauge, eighteen-foot cable. The plug seated properly into my car’s EV port, and the indicator light worked immediately and as expected. My top-off charge of one hour cut nearly an hour off the time my standard 110V L1 Charger usually takes to do the same. Overall, I’m pleased with this charger. It will save me a lot of time charging my car. ... show more

  • Nice charger
Style: Charger Type: Plug-In
We had to get a new outlet installed in the garage for this charger so it’s taken a while to try it out. It is a compact size charger. We had another level 2 charger in another house that was pretty big and bulky. This is pretty small. We have both a Nissan EV car and a Kia Hybrid car and they both can be charged with this charger. As a level 2 charger it charges quickly. Very pleased. ... show more

  • Excellent EV charger
Style: Charger Type: Plug-In
This plug in EV charger was easy to install. There aren’t many pieces or steps, it’s really not complicated as it came partially assembled already. The charger works perfectly and provides speedy charging. It comes with its own holder that is very secure, keeping it out of the way. You can install this indoors or outdoors. I chose to have it inside my garage. It also takes up far less space than I thought. ... show more
