  • It works well, but
I have had this for about 45 days. I have ran two spools of wire through this. This welds aluminum very well. Setup is very easy. Welding with aluminum wire it like using solid core mig but it's aluminum and you will be welding at a little faster pace. We have the same one at work on a Miller welder. Clean surfaces before welding. Make sure the grou d clamp is on what you are welding for best results. Welds are strong even in 120v. ... show more

  • Works awesome on my Omni 210
Despite the budget friendly price tag, I found the spool gun to perform beautifully once I got my Weldpro Omni 210 correctly set. Still learning the finer points of aluminum mig but it makes respectable welds with just the basic settings on my machine. It may be the combination of spool gun and my welder, but I was impressed with it. ... show more

  • Really like this gun
I’ve had this spoolgun for around 2 years. I’m still learning how to weld aluminum but the gun works flawlessly. It’s easy to attach, load spools.

  • LESS EXPENSIVE THAN ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S SPOOL GUN
I bought this to use on my EASTWOOD ELITE MP250i welder. It is the same spool gun that Eastwood sells , but at about half the price. came with 2 extra tips, and a 1lb spool of 4043 aluminum wire. used it to fabricate some custom brackets for light weight work light for running the overhead on diesel engines in class 8 trucks. worked very well. Only complaint I have is the feed rolls was a little difficult for me to initially get the wire through when loading the spool, but that was probably just me as I had never used aa spool gun before this. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a less expensive alternative than eastwood spool gun as it is Identical at far less money. ... show more

  • Value
I’ve used more expensive brands and this surprisingly matched their performance.

  • Set up
I've been welding for a while and was excited to get this but upon using it I was frustrated with set up have to reset my weld everytime I try to use it and upon every wire change have to play with the settings to get it to weld again and the spring to hold the wire roll tension is a joke. any little bit of tension and the wire will not feed through maybe I got a bad one idk but once u play with it and get it welding it welds great ... show more

  • I have yet to get it to work.
I have not been able to get it to work with aluminum with my weld pro machine. I've tried several different gauges and spools but they all just seem to make a druppy blob. I've welded steel for a long time and this just doesn't work very well for me. Seems like a waste of money and time.

  • A good weld the first time!
I have MIG welded in the past. We all know aluminum is different. It took awhile to get the settings right but when I got the setting right the weld looked like a professional weld after no aluminum experience. So if yo need to weld aluminum and suck at TIG ( like me) this is your ticket.
