The battery back is waterproof and I was able to use the provided tape to stick it to the back of the back board. You can barely tell the lights are on the rim during the day but it’s very bright at night! The kids love to use the remote to change the colors of the lights. The lights are in a clear tube so they are protected from the elements. The color is bright enough for them to play with little outdoor lighting. So much easier than having to install another light. The product shipped quickly and installed easily, but I am concerned about the quality of the build. There was an open gap where the wires entered the battery compartment that would have allowed rain Inside, which would’ve damaged the components. Fortunately, I saw it before it rained and was able to use silicone to seal the hole. It’s unfortunate this was not done by the company. It lights up well and I hope it lasts. ... show more

I'm a sports mom, of course I'm going to have everything that lights up so the kids can play outside for longer! I HIGHLY recommend these lights if your family is active from spring-fall. I'd say winter too, but in Ohio the weather is hit or miss. I bought this for my son for Christmas to go with the basketball hoop AND the Glow City basketball. I'm counting down the days till its lighter for longer outside, and a smidge warmer to fully enjoy all our new "toys" ... show more

The lights work fine but if your kid plays basketball a lot they won't stay on the rim long. My 14 year old practices a few times a week. It didn't take long (a week or two) before the zip ties started breaking and the lights began to fall off the hoop. I thought maybe they just gave us old, brittle zip ties so I had my husband put new zip ties up to secure the lights to the rim. Again they only lasted a week or two. It's not even summer-time yet so it's not like the sun is beating down on them. Would not recommend!! Fun for like a week but they do not last ... show more
