Ordered these for my coop. The package was open d upon arrival and it was missing a pad. They are easy to clean and not hard to cut down to size if needed. They are not super thick. The grass is all flattened.

I will use. But I bought hay to put on top. Because I felt it could be thicker maybe a bit less on the rough side

    • Soft pads that seem well made
These pads appear to be quality made. I haven't noticed any manufacturing flaws or other things about them that screams cheap quality. I was hoping that they would be a little more "drainable". As in, that they would have small holes or something in the base material that would allow water or fluids or small dirt particles through. These have more of a solid backing, so although they advertise as being washable, I wouldn't expect them to wash through, it's more like wash off if that makes any sense. So if you are wanting the kind that allows water and dirt/grime to wash through the pad, these are probably not the best option. However, if you have a setup that allows you to remove these and rinse or wash them off, then they will work great. ... show more

I really like these. I was putting bedding in the nest area, but this is a lot tidier! My eggs have less to clean off every day, and the chickens don't seem to have a problem with the mats at all. I spray them and dry them in the sun every few days, easy peasy. I really like these!

I liked this nesting box liner because it fit, and my hen (Thelma) used it this morning. What I did not like was that when I opened the plastic wrap, some junk fell out. Bits of the backing and some of the fake grass. That bothered me because a chicken will eat anything. I shook it off and installed it in their nest box, no cutting required. Full disclosure I put a little fluff there too, for the hen, and she laid an egg. These liners are easily removed for cleaning.. and they are washable with a hose.. My only concern was the debris that fell off, out of the package. I am new to chickens, maybe I am a little paranoid. ... show more

So I have a disabled rooster that's been inside for a little over a month being nursed back from a vitamin deficiency. I wanted to make his time inside as natural as possible but I was not bringing in real dirt and grass. This was a happy middle ground. I used some command strips to attach it to the play pen I had him in so they wouldn't move and was able to hide his food, grit, and meal worms in it to make it seem like he was foraging.
