🍃I ordered the white bowls and honestly I find them to be just ok as far as they look. The white is bland with an olive green rim and the pattern does not have a wow factor. I DO NOT look at them and think, “Oh my God, how beautiful”! However, they are porcelain and will not chip (like glazed ceramics) and the size is super functional. I prefer to eat salads and meals in bowls and these will work well. They are large enough to also use for side-dishes, popcorn, and snacks. Functionality and versatility, YES. Do I think they are special in looks, NO. (Perhaps if they were striking white they would be sharper looking). There are much prettier and unique porcelain bowls out there. However these are useful. These are really nice bowls. They’re the perfect size for a big salad. Pretty, soft color, nice exterior texture design, easy to hold, deep. Deducting one star because the interior finish of one bowl sustained scratch marks from the fork after the first use. Just a typical stainless steel fork. I ate my salad. Caesar, nothing elaborate, not even artichoke hearts. The scratches don’t affect the functionality of the bowl, but will become unsightly over time if this continues. ... show more

These are such lovely ceramic bowls! They are well made and feel very durable. They are fairly heavy for their size and the base and sides are thick. Some ceramic bowls feel so thin and delicate that I'm almost afraid to use them, but these are definitely robust enough for everyday use. Of course they will break if accidentally dropped or if I happen to hit one against the faucet too hard, but I don't feel as if they need to be handled with TLC. They are versatile, too -- the size (just over 2 quarts) is just right for using them as mixing bowls, to use as side dishes for a family meal or simply as a very large bowl to serve soup, pasta or salad for one! I chose the yellow version which is a beautiful buttery shade accented with a thin line of avocado green around the rim; very spring-like! The bowl has been expertly glazed inside and out with no rough areas, no over-glazed areas and no bare spots or other cosmetic flaws. The fluted design is striking and also makes the bowls easy to grip so I'm not likely to drop one when carrying it to the table or washing it. The bowls stack nicely. The product description states that the bowls are dishwasher safe, but I find it easier to just wash my ceramic pieces by hand, and it preserves the nice finish too. There are no markings on the bowls themselves as to whether they are also oven, freezer & microwave safe or free of lead (always a concern with glazed products, especially those made outside of the USA) although the description says they are. The current price seems very reasonable for two high quality bowls. They arrived in perfect condition as they were nestled in styrofoam in a nice box and were well protected against breakage during shipping. ... show more
