  • Total disappointment
Received the unit and it looked quite nice. Put the batteries in and then the disappointment sat in. Easy to set time; but it kept changing. If you hit the wrong button it resets. Have to reset the time several times a day. The station and volume controls tend to be confusing as it is the same button, plus the volume knob is too sensitive. Everytime time I raised my arm it changed the volume. I had a similar unit I bought several years ago (for less $) and it was great. I suggest buying a different brand or be ready to get upset having to redo everything on the radio every time you move. ... show more

  • Great item, Good value
I bought myself a new set to replace an older one and I'm well pleased. I even ordered another set for a birthday gift. Pros - Well made, reasonable price, works great, excellent volume. Cons - They are very tight on the head, but are some better if you extend the rods out (not in the instructions). Description - States AAA batteries but mine are 2 ea AA. NOTE: With the clock always on, I expect the batteries may have a shorter life. ... show more

  • Initial setup is easy and the radio dialed the few local radio stations ...
I bought 2 of these one for me and one for my Girl friend. Intended use is around the yard doing the yard work and for the gun range. Initial setup is easy and the radio dialed the few local radio stations in crystal clear. I love being able to hook my I - pod or my Droid phone up to it, so I can play the music I have from them also. They fit very comfortably on my head ( witch is rather large ) and my girl friend has a tiny head and she says they are really comfortable on her as well. They seem to be of good quality and held up well during the first lawn mowing on the rider under the tree branches. They got knocked off my head twice and didn't even get a scratch. Next trip is to the gun range. Rock n roll n rifles this should be fun. ... show more

  • Cuts off randomly
Comfortable. Easy controls. Unfortunately my radio turns off randomly. I'm not talking about an auto shut off after being on hours, I mean radio cuts off unexplainably. New batteries , doesn't matter. Sometimes it won't do it, sometimes it will turn off 4x in 2 minutes. Very annoying when trying to work. Wanted to like them but they malfunction. 2 stars. ... show more

  • I did enjoy using them for almost two years and hoped they ...
I bought these in August 2015 and only use them when I mow grass once a week in the summer. They are stored in a dry location otherwise. I did enjoy using them for almost two years and hoped they would have long time usage life considering the little use they actually get. About two weeks ago, the lcd screen starting flashing and then went out. I thought the batteries had died. When I opened the battery compartment door and removed the Duracell batteries, I dropped them as they were scalding my hands. For some reason, the system overheated and now the lcd screen and radio do not work at all. The batteries are in great condition with no leakage or damage. I don't know which to blame the product or the batteries, but I have a feeling something went wrong with the radio components. Now I have another set of ear muffs but with an antenna sticking up and have to resort to using my phone or mp3 player. I guess things aren't built to last anymore..... ... show more

  • Very bad
First of all, the idea is to protect hearing. Walker claims NRR 25, but I already have a NRR 24 muffs, and the Walker is noticeably poor at lower freqs. They let through a very disconcerting rumble. The volume control won't adjust low enough. One muff stopped working. The controls are silly: who needs a clock on the side of their head? You have to take the muffs off to turn on/off, which is tricky while driving. Back they go. ... show more

  • Poor operator controls
This is not what I expected. The unit looks just like another set I have but operates differently. The main issue I have is it’s clumsy operation. To adjust volume and tube stations you turn the knob. But you need to press a button to switch between the two functions so if you don’t do it right you loose your station when you wanted to change the volume. What a pain. It’s also not a sensitive receiver and can’t pick up the PBS station my other unit can. ... show more

  • Lasted 41 days
it worked fine for 41 days when the on off switch stopped working, it was on at the time so in order to turn it off I took the batteries out. when I but the batteries back in it would not turn on. I will replace it with something else. After close inspection I noticed the AM/FM button was stuck pressed in and after I wedged it out and retried the radio seems to working fine again. The new replacement is already on the way so I will have a back-up. I re-rated this to three stars. ... show more
