I used these pegs in the garden to hold wire fencing in place. The lighter weight rebar is just right for my application. However, my soil is soft allowing for hand installation. I did not need to use a hammer to pound them in the ground, and I'd be worried that they'd deform/bend if I hit them with a hammer. I have a dog who found she could dig under my chain link fence in loose spots. These j hooks were the perfect solution. I had recently cleared areas around the fence from debris and random trees that had overgrown so the fence was more open. I hammered these j hooks into the ground every few feet and it did the trick.
