I recently purchased a PHEV because it seemed to match my driving habits with the greatest efficiency. I either have very short drives, or very long drives. For my short drive days, I can do everything on EV power. For the long drive days, I have an ICE and over 400 miles of total range before needing to fuel up at a gas station. The trick is that I also have a solar power system in my shed. In the summer time, the power mostly goes to keeping the shed climate controlled. In the winter … I generate way more power than I use. With this level 1 charger, I can set the amperage at a level my inverter can handle and dump all that excess power into my EV battery. I like being able to customize the power draw by changing the amperage. 10 amps seems to be what my inverter can handle and still manage all the other loads in the shed. I have a small fridge, the window AC, battery chargers for my power tools, etc. If there is a day when I just need to pull lots of excess power off the system, I can up the amperage a bit. The charger seems well built. It’s very simple to use, and I don’t worry about the wires overheating or causing problems. Both plugs are very robust, and the charger delivers the current it’s set at. The cord was not as long as I needed it to be so I still had to use an extension cord.

    • Stopped working at 4 month mark
Worked great until it didn’t. Bought it on 8/16/23 and it died on 12/11/23. Don’t waste your money. It stopped charging in middle of the night and when I tried plugging in all the lights in house started flashing and a crackling noise started. I unplugged and am using my much shorter factory charger with no issue. I was only using the regular household electrical outlet with this. Something is wrong with it and I think it might explode or catch fire if I used it further. Seems dangerous. Don’t waste your money. ... show more

Easy to use. Can change power level while charging. It keeps the power level setting so if higher amperage blows your circuit you can plug in elsewhere and turn it down. Easy to connect and disconnect. Not the longest cable, but decent.

The media could not be loaded. There is no 240V socket in my garage and I'm looking for a 110V plug-charger. Voltfanty met my expectations, easy to install and use. It's pretty cool to check the charging status on the display screen, select charging-Amp and set charging-time. Great product.

I have it plugged to 20amp 220v outlet. I set it to charge at 16A, but it only shows 9A charge rate, so it is slower than I had hoped, charging my plug in hybrid. UPDATE: I discovered a setting on my new car (Alfa Romeo Tonale) that had the allowable charge rate set to 60% of max rate. Once I set the car to use 100% the charger gave the full 16A charge rate. This setting could be useful maybe if your charger pops an electrical breaker. ... show more
