  • Good quality. Worth the price and savings. Headsets are very large.
Size: UDH-PLAY-8-MIB
So far, so good. Everything works. I have not tested in a theatre yet, so I can’t speak to range. The headsets are VERY large. Pretty much too large to use on our kids in a play. (See pictures) I will have to order a different microphone for them. I was pretty sure this was the case when I purchased, but ordered anyways as the microphones are not too expensive to replace with another brand. The lavalier mics are good. For the money, so far this seems well worth the price and well worth the savings versus another better-known brand. I will add to this review down the road, as we use them more. *Update* we used this for a children's theater production of Addams Family the musical. The body packs were excellent. Stayed clipped on, and had a nice range of adjustability on volume. They were shipped to me with the gain adjusted to 100%. So immediately there was distortion when the kids talked. So definitely turn down the gain knob in the actual body packs if you are getting too much volume. Then there are also volume control knobs on the receivers. Lots of adjustability. The reception and range was never an issue in our theater with about a 30-50 foot line of sight from sound booth to all corners of the stage. Never any interference. Remember though that if you think range will be an issue for your theater or church, you could definitely just leave these receivers on or near stage and run them to a cable snake and the snake will run the receivers to the board as far away as your snake will allow. In this way, your mics only need to transmit a few feet, and the mixing board could be hundreds of feet away. It’s perfectly setup for this should you want to. The headset microphones that plug in to the body packs are fairly cheap, but the sound quality was just fine. The headsets are large and bulky compared to the slender flesh colored mics you see on broadway, and the boom is really long, so if you want the mic directly in front of your lips, that is do-able, but not very discreet. For us, we did not want the mics in front of mouths because of breath noise and such, so we instructed actors to wear the mics down and away from the mouth, and that was great... they served the purpose just fine for us. Sounded great, overall. Battery life was totally fine. When tested, batteries lasted us about 5 hours. So not enough for two shows, but plenty of battery for one long show. That was with a variety of brands of batteries, cheap to not so cheap. Extra Note: Something to think about when you’re purchasing this set. This specific set from vocopro is not expandable. That means that if you order this set of eight microphones, you cannot simply call and order another four microphones. The reason for this is that vocopro has a specific range of frequencies they use for their microphones. In the 900 mhz range. When they sell a set of eight body packs together, they space them out with in the limited range they have to offer so that they minimize interference between microphones. If you think you might ever want more than eight microphones, you should consider buying the system that comes with 12 body packs, or 16 body packs. Again, if you buy a system with 12, they specifically send you 12 body packs that are spaced a little closer together than the eight, but it still within the same range. If you tried to mix the two systems together, the individual frequencies would probably be too close together on at least a handful of the microphones, rendering them less effective due to interference. This is confusing, and I was confused by it until I saw the frequency is written out on charts. Then I understood why you can’t simply add on. We decided we wanted to add for microphones so we had to purchase from a different brand that operates in the 500 MHz range. This worked out fine, bec this is confusing, and I was confused by it until I saw the frequencies written out on charts. Then I understood why you can’t simply add on. We decided we wanted to add four microphones so we had to purchase from a different brand that operates in the 500 MHz range. This worked out fine for us. But it something to think about when you are purchasing your system. If you purchase eight from this brand, and then you decide to add on later, you’ll probably need to purchase from a different brand in a different frequency range. ... show more

  • Nice set but not expandable
Size: UDH-PLAY-8-MIB
This is a very nice set. The transmitters and receivers have no pop, hiss, or crackle. They transmit for a long way very clearly. The bag and foam are a very nice touch and make the set very convenient. The bag has no metal inside of it; instead, the receivers simply sit snugly between the foam and the bag itself. Technical notes: • The transmitters and receivers are fixed frequency. If you experience interference you will not be able to change frequencies to adjust. • VOCOPRO only makes this set in 8 frequencies. In other words, it cannot expand if you want more channels (which is why I needed to return the set). • My set was shipped with 2 units (for a total of 4 channels) with overlapping frequencies. VOCOPRO customer service was quick to respond • Uses the industry (Shure) standard 4-pin mini XLR connection on the transmitters making it easy to upgrade or add additional elements ... show more

  • Not happy with this product:(
Size: UDH-PLAY-8-MIB
Attempted to use this for a stage show. It is definitely not a system that you can take out of the box and go. I have used this for a small theatre company and the problem is the system itself has to be very close to the stage or the mics cut out. Additionally, if the mics get too close the speakers, then there is terrible feedback that scares the audience. Additionally, if you place these under costumes, it is a lot of trouble for the kids to turn them on and off. So, you must have a mixer so that a sound person can turn them on and off. While they are color coded, they are color coded in the back making it complicated for the person running the mixer. I would have rather spent more money on a better system than to waste it on this. But I will use it and work around the issues. Very difficult for youth. Takes a lot of training to use them on stage. ... show more

  • This would have been great if all of the channels worked
Size: UDH-PLAY-8-MIB
This would have been great if all of the channels worked. The sound was beautiful, but all of the channels did not work. Vocopro failed to repair, and I had to waste money sending parts back, only to have no one follow up or get in touch with me. It was extremely frustrating and I got the impression that they could really care less. Still trying to resolve after about six weeks of getting the run around. I am out a lot of money, and have only a really nice bag and half of the parts to show for it. ... show more

  • Takes a lot of tweaking
Size: UDH-PLAY-8-MIB
Sound quality was a mixed bag. Some headsets sounded good, some didn’t. The lapel mics didn’t work very well. (For a church youth play). I did like how each mic had an xlr output. Some brands (Pyle) have 2 mics per unit but one phone plug cord out. The case is cool. Convenient. The system did take a lot of tweaking but worked. Never had any latency or dropped signal from bout 50’. ... show more

  • The Worst!!!!
Size: UDH-PLAY-8-MIB
This was the worst product I ever purchased on Amazon. I bought it for future use and when I opened it a few weeks after I received it there were missing parts. No AC cord and nothing works. I took it to a top audio/video store and they laughed when I told them what it was. Seems as if this is a product that is poorly made and hardly ever works fully when purchased. I wish I could give a negative star rating. ... show more

  • So easy to use!
Size: UDH-PLAY-8-MIB
I bought this for a play put on by my 4th - 6th grade class. It was perfect! The units paired easily and we had clear, clean, bright sound with no hassle. The mixed output for each two units made it possible to run from our simple 4 channel PA system. It is a dream come true.
