This VNIMTI spade shovel is as extremely well made spade shovel that should last a lifetime. I was hesitant on ordering it but I am glad I did. It arrived quickly and without scratches or dents. The sturdiness of this spade shovel will not displease you. I have a quality spade shovel from a higher-end manufacturer and this one compares well to it with several distinct differences. The first one that I think will serve me well is the stiffness of the spade blade. The VNIMTI spade shovel has a solid, stiff blade that will not bend when hitting roots or other obstructions. The size of the blade is a little smaller in width that will be helpful in tighter spaces and working around plants. The VNIMTI spade shovel has a strong, solid wooden handle, both in the body and the D-handle. The D-handle is a good size for larger hands that will not crowd your hands when wearing gloves.     • The missing piece from my garden tool arsenal!
I am a first time homeowner, and a hobby gardener - but I am also on a budget. I've never actually bought a garden tool; they've all come to me through neighbor giveaways, heirlooms from family, and occasionally as gifts. I felt I had everything I needed, and then this popped up on Vine, and I realized I didn't actually have a full sized spade. I got it and used it right away to prep some areas where I was installing new garden edging. This spade is so nice! It is really well made and so sturdy. My soil is rocky clay, so this little guy was hitting some real challenges and is no worse for the wear. The materials seem top notch, and I can't believe I went so long without a real spade!     • Good quality shovel
This is my first flat-bottom shovel. I used it today to pry up a big flat rock, dig and scrape out dirt underneath, and bury the rock deeper so its top is now at ground level. Tripping hazard eliminated. The blade is made of metal thick enough that I did not stress it when I pried up the rock. The blade has ‘step on’ ears on both sides of the handle. The grip and the shaft are made of smooth wood that did not generate splinters. The shaft bottom extends at least 7” into the collar. The top end extends 2-3” into the grip handle. The shaft is riveted at both ends. The shovel appears to be well made and well balanced. I am a not-tall person and had no difficulty with it. My rating: good. This is a fine shovel. My scale: 5 star = excellent (or has a special feature), 4 star = good/ very good (does what it should), 3 star = average (has a minor flaw) , 2 star = below average (multiple flaws or does not perform its function well), 1 star = avoid (does not fulfill its mission). Nothing beats a good flat spade shovel for cutting into SOW and digging a straight line. This one is well made with a good solid handle. The foot supports for driving it into the ground are solid with no flexing. The D-handle doesn't wobble or isn't loose at all. The paint scrapes easily, but it's a shovel - it's going to. This is a great shovel. It is well-made, as you'd expect. The blade is durable and will not bend easily. It is sharp enough to cut through most roots and dislodge small rocks. The easy grip handle reduces stress on the wrist which is a plus.
