This handrail was easy to install. You do need a hammer drill if going into concrete. The rail is sturdy and adds to the look of my home without being obtrusive. It has not gone through winter yet so I cannot say how well it holds up to weathering. I am very happy with this handrail.

Rail itself if good, fits good, sturdy metal The bad Slow shipping from California, concrete shields are low quality, but the junk in box are small Allen keys,2, that are cheap and don't fit well. The supplies wrench is worthless for the metric size nuts. Overall. If your handy, and have tools, this railing is great for the money, expect to buy better concrete shields and use your own wrenches, hammer drill, concrete bits, etc. If your not handy this railing isn't for you. Or pay somebody. Took me start to finish say 1.5 hours to install. Paint finish is good. Packed well in box. ... show more

I installed this railing on my mom's back steps that lead into our garage. It's a great railing and we both use it for stability. If installing the posts into concrete, make sure you drill the holes a couple inches extra deep. On the first post, I didn't drill deep enough and I had a heck of time getting the anchor bolts to go into the concrete. On the second post, I drilled extra deep and they went in easy and worked just like they should. We're planning to install 2 more of these railings for our front porch, too! ... show more

These were easy to install and added a layer of safety to our concrete stairs. They are well made and very sturdy once placed. The self-leveling action made this easy to adjust and place, just measure the area prior to ordering so you get the correct size. No cutting required!

The media could not be loaded. For starts, don’t even use the anchor bolts, they are cheap and will disintegrate. Total crap and very frustrating. Took me two tries to scrap them. A good one is only $1.50 and you need eight, why they don’t just upgrade them is odd. And the base plate holes are only large enough for the bolts and leave no clearance. Drilling in concrete exactly on center (8 holes) is nearly impossible. I had to ream out the four holes on the bottom plate to make them bigger. To avoid that on the top plate I drilled 3/16” holes in the concrete instead of the 5/16” for their cheap lag bolts and used concrete tap screws with hex heads which gave me a bit of slack which was needed. And they painted the diagonal rail Allen screws so you really can’t tighten the rails very well, also because they include cheap Allen wrenches. You certainly can’t install this into concrete steps with the hardware and tools included. I suspect on a set of wood stairs would be different. With said, after two trips for different hardware and using my own tools it’s pretty sturdy and it worked for the angle of our steps. But was a total pain to install. ... show more

We used this for a small landing with 4 steps. It was heavy and had a nice black finish to it. It was easy to adjust and install using the wood screws that were provided. After installation it felt very firm, solid, and you could trust putting weight on it going up or down the stairs. I was surprised at how sturdy it was given the price point. We've only had it installed for a few months, so we'll see if the finish lasts with our yearly weather changes. ... show more
