I bought this based on what seemed like solid reviews, but then when I got it, I tried using it for recording live music (mine). There NO Audio Controls at all on this camcorder. There's no way to adjust mic inputs or anything else. So, I figured I'd buy an external mic to solve the problem, so I bought a really nice Rode mic and I had the exact same problem. I did a little more review digging and found out that this is a very common problem (for some reason, I completely missed that when reading the Amazon reviews the first time. Probably because the price tag seemed so good). I hung on this unit too long to return it (my fault), so now I use it for video only and record using my phone which has adequate audio (and much better resolution). That brings me to the quality of the video itself. It says 4k, and it may actually spec out to that, but the actual quality of the video is so disappointing that if anyone ever asked me what they thought of this camcorder, I would tell them to run, not walk away from this one. BTW, I rarely if ever leave bad reviews. I genuinely think companies try there best to put good products out there, but this one is an exception. ... show more

Nice features, however the quality of the film were less than adequate. Bought specifically to video tape football games for our youth football team. The quality of the film is definitely not 4K. The camera is a 4K camera, but there are some issues. The color is pretty washed out. While the image is a 4K image, it's not very smooth and there is more noise than I would expect. The digital zoom doesn't even pretend to be smooth - it has discrete jumps from one zoom level to the next. It wouldn't have been that hard to modify the software in some ways which would have made the hardware in this camera work better. It's inexpensive, but I'm not sure it's worth the money for the quality you get. Another issue I've discovered. This camera cannot record long videos. Many digital video cameras break up the video into smaller files as memory fills up. That's fine. This one doesn't have enough buffer to do so seamlessly. This means that if you are recording a 30 minute video, it will be in 4 files. That's fine. However, in between each of those files will be a couple missing seconds. If you record a play, as I did, there are gaps. That isn't acceptable and I've lowered my rating. ... show more
