I have used this bit on my router sled. I cut a few boards and the finish was excellent. It is nice that the inserts are replaceable and it came with an extra set. I did notice that one of the inserts looked like it had small chip in the edge. This was surprising because the packaging was excellent. There is no way it was chipped in transist. I used it anyway and the finish was fine. The cut was smooth and did not smoke or burn the wood. Very durable and well made. Brought this to flatten top on new work bench. Took 1/4inch depth pass off at a time. Worked very well. Now flattening 30”x 7ft oak slabs. So far holding a sharp edge. Have not tried changing cutting blades since still sharp. Will try to update review at later date.

Well made cutter , easy setup. Set the program up, set the tool up and it cut nice, good finish no dipping or chatter marks. Smooth clean finish. Will buy it again if needed.

I used this to plane smooth a coffee table top made of hard maple and purple heart wood. I wasn't sure how well it would work given the price and knowing how hard and dence these two woods are. I was very impressed with the performance of this bit, it started to dull and chatter on the last couple passes but that was only after I had planed the face and underside of this top. This bit is really nice and does a fine job leveling hardwood / epoxy tables. The 4 stars for longevity and 3 stars for value and durability are just because of the fact that finding extra replacment blades is really difficult if not impossible. I am waiting on a new bit that I paid 3 times the money for but I know I can order replacment blades for anytime I need them, I hope the 12 x 12 x 1.5s I orderd with my new bit fit this one if so I will edit this review with the info if allowed. ... show more
