    • Quiet, very quick fill time
I bought this to replace a no-name compressor that was installed in a Rat Rod I purchased last year. Contrary to other reviews I have read, I think this unit is pretty quiet. In my application, the compressor is mounted to a bracket thats welded to the frame directly behind the drivers seat. I have it wired to a relay through the ignition and a 120-145psi pressure switch on a 3 gal tank. It will fill the tank from 0psi to 145psi in about 3min., and from 120-145psi in about 30sec. I dont have a lot of experience with air ride systems, or these compressors, but it must use a fairly standard mounting bolt pattern as it replaced the cheapo pump that was installed exactly.     • Powerful 12v compressor.
First off, I was really surprised that the compressor came with nothing more than a couple of filter inserts and some 1/4" hose barb fittings. It contained no mounting hardware, nor any instructions of any kind. Except on the compressor, nothing said "Viair" anywhere. It works fine, but I expected a colorful box, brochure, or at least something that looked official. Never the less, I installed this on my '96 F250 pickup to fill a 5-gallon tank mounted on the frame rail. The compressor took about 5 minutes to fill the tank from empty, and with about 2-3 minutes to refill with a 150/120 psi off/on pressure switch tied to an ignition-powered relay. It is nearly as powerful and as quick as my Bostitch pancake-style 110v compressor, but surprisingly quieter. I can DEFINITELY still hear it while I'm driving however. I have a Hadley bully airhorn, and a fitting to attach an air hose for running a nailgun, or other air tools. I'm happy with the compressor, but as I'm not using it very heavily, I don't know how it'll fare long-term. I will include an update in 6 months or more as to its performance.... ... show more

This pump came with everything needed to mount it including the screws, it pumps from 0 psi to 140psi in about 3.5 minutes and from 110 psi to 140 psi in about a minute for my 3 gallon tank. I am thinking of getting another pump like this and use a 175 psi switch instead of my 140 psi.

There is nothing to dislike about Vair, the only issue I have is trying to find someplace big enough under the hood to mount the air cleaner, compressor is mounted on the frame rail under the cab, and a ram truck with a aftermarket twin turbo and 5" down pipe and everything that goes with it eats up all the room. ... show more

I purchased this compressor for my daily driven car. It’s used for my air suspension. One compressor usually last me a year or so because I’m constantly airing up. Hopefully this one will last me longer.
