I have not used this yet, and will update this review after I have. BUT, it is advertised as forged. The "spade" part of the install tool appears to be forged. The one that needs to be stronger, due to length, it's awkward shape, and the force needed to use it, is definitely a casting, and a rough one at that. Probably sand cast. I see some reports of them breaking. That might be a hit-or-miss thing, maybe they got one with a bubble or sand inclusion at a critical spot. I hope this one works. The cast surface is very rough, for surfaces that will have either the wheel edge or tire sliding over them. I want to clean the surface up with a grinder and flap wheel, but don't want to do that, break it on first use, then be denied a return because I altered it. I wonder if anyone would notice that? Hopefully it doesn't break, then I smooth it up, and it works great. If so, I'll give it another star and update this review. I have some other vevor things that are ok. Update, October 2023- I changed a few tires. 10r22.5. It worked well. Return date has long passed, so I'll smooth the rough surfaces some, as mentioned, before changing any more tires. I suspect it will work better then, and it works pretty well already. I'm happy. Hope it doesn't break. ... show more
