Features

  • 100% COCONUT BASED CUTTING BOARD & BUTCHER BLOCK OIL: The Verdana Cutting Board Oil is 100% coconut derived with NO palm, soy or Mineral oil-based ingredients. The ingredient in this product is the same ingredient we sell in bulk and retail for making food products.
  • ORGANIC, KOSHER AND NON-GMO: Our Organic Cutting Board and Butcher Block Oil is USDA NOP Organic, Kosher and Non-GMO.
  • PREVENTS DRYING AND CRACKING: Penetrates deep into the fibers of the wood in the Cutting Board, Butcher Block as well as other Wood and Bamboo ware and Furniture to hydrate and condition. • Restored Colors and Moisture to Dried out Cutting Board with One Application
I'm reviewing Verdana Organic Cutting Board Oil, Food Grade, 100% Coconut Derived, Vegan, Butcher Block Oil & Conditioner and Polish for All Wood, NO Mineral Oil, 8 Fl Oz. This cutting board oil did a nice job restoring my well used cutting board. I've been using it for a few years and never oiled it resulting in a faded, dried out surface. This oil brought back the lovely colors (see photos). I applied the oil with a soft cloth as directed and saw immediate results. Now I have several other boards to restore. It's unscented with no coconut smell, which is nice since I don't want other foods to take on the scent of coconut. I appreciate that this oil is organic and food safe. I find the current price of $9.90 to be reasonable. As a side note, this Verdana Organic Cutting Board Oil is made in India per the description and product label. ... show more

  • Organic Cutting Board Oil – Food Grade Kosher Non-GMO – 100% Coconut Derived
This is a highly refined coconut oil, I generally use mineral oil on all my wood-handled knives but figured I would give this a try as it's more natural... So far so good, no concerns at all, it soaked into the knife handles well and left the expected oil finish...

  • Nice
I needed some neutral oil for the wooden cutting board care. Didn't want to use mineral oils that are derived from petroleum. This oil is exactly what I was looking for. Organic Coconut Oil, neutral, odorless, colorless. Wash the board with soap and running warm water. Dry thoroughly with a towel, set vertically and let it dry completely (usually overnight). When fully dry apply oil. I usually pour a little as needed and wipe with the clean hands. Good part, since it's organic coconut oil, your skin will appreciate it too :) If you follow these simple steps, your board will last you long time. Happy with the purchase and highly recommend. ... show more

  • Rehydrate your dry wood!
I have a small collection of bamboo cutting boards that get a lot of mileage. The weekly-to-daily use and washing of my boards have made them pretty dang dry. I poured about 1-2 tablespoons onto each board and rubbed it around with a paper towel to get full coverage, then left it to soak in. My boards must have been thirsty, because there was nothing to wipe away after sitting for an hour. They looked hydrated though; darker in color with less of a “splintery” texture. There is a very faint coconut smell, but only if you take a sniff from about 1 inch away. ... show more

  • Works well, stores easily and costs plenty
I've used both this and the company's cast-iron seasoning oil (pretty sure it's the same oil with different labels), and I've been happy with the results of both. The oil appears to be of high quality, and is rated as organic, kosher, non-GMO and all the other good things. For the price, however, I'll probably stick to the lower-cost jars of "regular" organic coconut oil I usually use for cooking, etc. It's good, but certainly on the pricier side for coconut oil. ... show more

  • It's coconut oil
It's food grade coconut oil, so perfect for oiling your cutting boards. I noticed a positive change right after using this for the first time. The wood of my cutting board just looked nicer and healthier. And there's no worry about any residue left behind because it's coconut oil, so I know it's not toxic or harmful in any way. Definitely worth the purchase price. ... show more

  • OK, but Pricey
This stuff absorbs quickly into dry, uncoated wood (especially end grain), and has no discernible odor, so it seems to work. If you're regularly treating cutting boards or other larger wooden items though, the amount in this bottle is not going to last all that long. If you really like the fact that it's made from non-GMO coconut oil & etc. so for it, but I think I'll stick with my usual, the much cheaper but effective human consumption-grade mineral oil. That's available in most pharmacy sections, even in certain nationwide ubiquitous big-box general retailers. Your choice. ... show more

  • Good Alternative
Generally I will use a mineral oil for my cutting boards and wooden utensils, but decided to give this a try. It seems to have just as much protection as what I normally use, it is nice because it's an organic option. The bottle did not leak at all during shipping, it is easy to apply and does not have any off putting smells or colors after application. ... show more
