Top Amazon Reviews

  • great option for college students & frequent movers
I chose this couch because it was in my budget & it was one of the few couches where a decent amount of reviews mentioned how comfortable it is. my roommate liked that the seat cushion was just one cushion rather than two because they dont like falling in the crevice. i should note that i just set it up and havent had time to really abuse it and give it some good use, but here are first impressions. i’ll come back and edit the review in month intervals to give an accurate picture to future consumers, but it feels great so far. i have a set of black sofa chairs i bought from amazon that i bought two months ago that have been super comfy, so i figured that getting a decent couch on amazon was possible with some review research. delivery: this is out of the direct control of the manufacturers and producers, but i did want to note that i ordered it on the 14th and it arrived on the 19th. it came in one box and in 4 major parts. i live on the ground floor and the box wasnt too heavy for me to drag it inside. assembly: once I got the box into my living room, I opened it and took out each major part. the assembly process was the same as the assembly for the two sofa couches i bought earlier, so i figure that this is a standardized method for couches in this range. were four main sections of the sofa in the box: 1) the seat cushion, 2) the backrest, 3 and 4) the arm rests. when you turn the seat upside down, there’s a compartment that you can unzip & the cushions and box of legs & screws are inside. i included a pic of the assembly instructions, but it was super simple. i was able to assemble it alone. i live in a duplex & this couch was going in the downstairs, so i wanted something that came in parts, was not too heavy, and was easy to disassemble. this sofa is great for college students or people who frequently move. appearance: very cute! obviously doesnt look high end because it isnt high end, but it doesnt look unfinished, used or like it is disposable. i think the biggest tell in some ways is the arm rests because theyre less thick than traditional couches and are shorter. as you can see in the images, it has a middle seam rather than two seams, which is not common and provides less support. there are some stray loose threads, but nothing that threatens the look of the couch or its structural integrity. these shortcomings doesnt really matter to me and i still find the couch to be incredibly adorable. the back cushions don’t cover the entire back of the couch, but it’s not super noticeable and honestly if you’re sitting in it, it doesnt matter. if you’re looking at it, it is easily concealed. this basement has terrible lighting, so it either looks blush pink or like a darker and rosey pink. images in other reviews reflect the couch well. your lighting will help make it pop or dull its appearance. comfort: overall it is a bit of a short couch. i’m 5’3” and the backrest is mid-back for me. the couch will be against a wall (i’m moving it from that wall in the image), so my head and back would be supported anyway. people have noted that the seat cushion is firm. i was afraid it was going to be uncomfortable and that i wouldnt want to sit in it for long, but it’s honestly perfect. i have scoliosis, so a firm surface is great for me. it’s not rock hard, but not as forgiving as memory foam. it’s in that middle ground leaning towards firm, though a better word might be supportive. the seat is made of coils & some sort of cushioning foam, but it’s not as plush as down or cotton fill. it won’t mould around your body, but we didnt care about that as much as we cared about having seating for guests. you can comfortable lounge, lay back, read and even sleep. cushion it with throw pillows and your favorite blanket & you’re good for the night. i can’t speak for anyone taller than me but i can see myself knocking out on this. i wont be spending my entire day on it but it will be easy to lounge on this. the material is more suede like than “velvet”, but that’s likely the more comfortable of the option. the pillows are much softer than the seat and are super comfy overall 10/10 for the price & how it meets our needs ... show more

  • Perfect size, color, and firmness
I spent almost a year looking for a blue velvet couch, and when I came across this one it was the exact blue I had been looking for, though the blue in person is a little more muted than the company’s picture, still very happy with the color. I loved the style and that the seat was one cushion and there were no button-tufted cushions. I wanted a smaller couch for my space and this fit perfectly in my living room, as a shorter girl, it’s lowered height from the floor works perfectly for me. I also love how easy it is to get dog hair off of, a couple sweeps with my hand held vacuum and the dog hair is gone. Though I do put a sheet over it at night, just to cut down on the hair I have to vacuum off, since my dog has decided it’s his new bed. The couch came in a huge box but since it was delivered on my front porch I just scooted it inside and unpacked it, it was easy to assemble, had it all together in about 30 minutes. The seat cushion is a little more firm than I’m used too, but I really like that. The back cushions are soft instead of firm which is perfect for when I’m curled up with my dog and reading. They also come off whenever I need to take them off to clean or vacuum. The two round pillows make the couch look nice but really don’t work when laying down, but I was planning on getting throw pillows for when I lay down anyways. ... show more

  • Beautiful Couch + Pros/Cons
For starters, I've only had this couch since yesterday so I can only provide so much information but I will do my best to leave a comprehensive review - For context, I've had this Serta loveseat (https://www.amazon.com/Serta-Palisades-Collection-Flagstone-Beige/dp/B00EUU5JIY/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Serta+Palisades+Upholstered+Sofas+for+Living+Room+Modern+Design+Couch%2C+Straight+Arms%2C+Soft+Fabric+Upholstery%2C+Tool-Free+Assembly+-+61%22+Loveseat+-+Beige&qid=1647027002&s=home-garden&sr=1-1) for almost 7 years. In that time it had been in 1 dorm and 3 apartments, so needless to say it had seen some wear and was beginning to sag heavily in the middle. It's also much smaller than this couch (61" v 48" of sitting room) so I was looking to upgrade to a larger couch. I live on the 3rd floor and my door is only 20" wide, so finding a couch that would even fit through my door has been a challenge. Shipping/Package Dimensions - I ordered this couch on 03/07/22 with an estimated arrival date between 03/18 and 03/24, however it arrived 3 days later on 03/10 via FedEx from NJ. I know the weight of the package has been a "make it or break it" point for some buyers (especially ones who have mobility challenges and/or live alone). FedEx listed the weight at around 85 lbs altogether which seems very accurate, so make sure you can handle carrying that weight (or have someone assist you) before buying. The couch arrives in 1 box with 62.5" x 28" x 15" dimensions. The box arrived with a few battered corners but thankfully all of the contents inside arrived without any damage - I chalk this up to the shipping carrier more than the sellers. Each piece is individually wrapped, including the back pillows which are stored in a zipper compartment in the underside of the base. The legs of the chair as well as all required screws + a monkey wrench are also stored in the underside with the legs being individually packaged in bubble wrap. The major pieces are the back + seat cushion (which is attached), the back, and 2 couch arms. Assembly: Assembly took a bit of retry and the directions aren't very detailed. First you screw the legs onto the base and tighten using a monkey wrench (assembly does not require drilling or power tools - all necessary tools come with the couch. This is a huge perk for me because it means the couch disassembles the same way it arrived, making it easier for transport if/when I move). I didn't have any issues with the holes aligning with the screws. Then you add the arms. If you are facing the couch from the front, the siding with the pocket with be on the right side. The arms are attached via an interlocking V shaped bracket, which takes some trial and error. The reason being is the padding on the arms make it challenging to get as close against the couch end as needed to lock in the brackets. It took me maybe 3 or 4 times of readjusting to make sure each bracket was interlocked (there are 2 spots on each end where the brackets must align). From there you press down to seat the brackets and then add the back. The back piece uses the same V brackets to slide in. There is a fabric flap attached to the back of the back piece which attaches to the bottom via velcro; this ensures that the back matches the same fabric as the rest of the couch. IMPORTANT: If you go to attach the back piece and it looks like it's going to be too short, DO NOT PANIC. All you need to do is slide one side into the bracket so it is fully attached, then press in the arm of the opposite side in towards the center of the couch until the brackets meet. (I was about ready to cry when this happened to me, but thankfully in the Q&A someone had a similar problem and a solution was posted). Think of it like trying to make a right angle with the back of the couch and the arm. From there the last step is to make sure the back is fully seated and add the pillows. Something to note is the back pillows don't cover the length of the couch fully - you need to use the cylindrical pillows to fill in the gaps (like this: ⚬▭▭⚬ ). Quality/Comfort: Someone else also commented that it leans more towards a suede material than a velvet one and I tend to agree, although I think it's a bit more of a hybrid. When you first sit down on it, the foam is very firm. But even after a day it feels more comfortable and I find the couch to be great for lounging/watching tv. I ordered the blue and it's a beautiful, rich color! It has that texture where if you run your hand over it, it'll become lighter/darker depending on which direction you were touching it. I have noticed that the couch already has a scratch in the fabric (likely from my cats) so its not the most durable fabric if you have pets that are prone to scratching. To recap - Pros: -Quick delivery -Compact packaging -Easy(ish) assembly -On the firm side -Beautiful Cons: -Heavy if you're moving it yourself and/or need to move up several flights of stairs -May not be a good fit if you have pets that scratch furniture -Not the plushiest of couches if that's what you're looking for -Shipping is $90, bringing the total cost to over $500 ... show more
