This is heavy and exactly as it looks in the photo. I use it to crush my daughter's medication to put through a g-tube. It works great! Grinds very fine. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is because the medication has to be brushed out and still sometimes stays in the grooves on the inside of the Mortar. ... show more

I absolutely love this Mortar and Pestle Set. I use for many different things like herbs and pills, but I also used it for breaking up some of my crystals and it had no problem breaking it up. Not one chip on the mortar or the pestle. It's very sturdy and the size is just right.

It's probably a little smaller than it should be, and I really need some way to hold it down unless I want to shake the whole thing it's sitting on. But I will admit some days it feels rather heavy and also it took me a while to start getting used to the processes. Anyway, having run out of acceptable sunflower powder products it was nice that this has enabled me to make my own daily.
