Love this product 2-3 seconds and whatever your grinding has been ground. Depending on how fine you would like your product to be you can increase the time to 3-5 secs! One bit of advixe make sure you have the lid on before grinding.

So far I've only used my grinder for flax seeds. It works quite nicely for that. I put the ground seeds into my overnight oats. This little grinder handles them nicely and it is really eazy to clean up after. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

This electric grinder sure does chop up whatever you put in it. We are all using this for the same thing, right? I'll assume we are. So if you want to absolutely pulverize the herb you put in it, this is for you. And I mean it goes to powder after a few seconds. But is powder what you want? If it is- this is absolutely the one for you. Check the pictures from other reviews. Is that what you're after? Or- are you looking for something that grinds like a manual hand grinder? One of the manual hand grinders chops it up, but it isn't powder at the end. The thing is, when you roll up powder, you can easily roll something you can't pull on. It's so packed and fine that air has trouble getting through. Oh. Uh... Well I don't want that. I want to be able to use the ground up stuff. Well then caution. Maybe you don't want electric at all. It seems that all the electric grinders are basically coffee grinders that will absolutely pulverize plant matter. I wanted something to grind a LOT. And quickly. Thought this was the solution. It's kinda not. But kinda has its place. I've found that mixing manually ground with absolutely pulverized works well. But I am still on a mission to find the perfect device. Unfortunately, so far, electric is just too damn strong. So far, the perfect one has been large, manual, with hand crank. But I'm still looking. Still trying. I won't give up. And they say we're lazy and lack motivation. Ha! ... show more

    • Fine but noisy, wouldn't buy again (UPDATE: nevermind, it's junk)

UPDATE: This thing is so annoying to work with, and incredibly noisy. After 4 days of use it doesn't even work half the time when plugged in. Just spend a little more money, don't do what I did and try to be cheap. You're gonna just buy another grinder that's better later. --- ORIGINAL: I bought it to replace a lost hand grinder. I use this to grind legal herbs, you know the ones. It works fine for that, easy to use, not too big a pain to clean if you stay on it after each use. Grinds things up well and consistently. It's a 3 because of two things: 1) The noise level is not great. I expected some noise, but this thing sounds like if you took a vacuum cleaner and set the volume at 50% - so still pretty loud. If I lived alone in a house I wouldn't care but I live in an apartment with people around, and this thing can definitely be heard through the walls whenever I use it. So the problem now is that if I want to do an early morning or late-night session, I still have to grind/cut by hand so I don't disturb my neighbors. If it's past midnight, doing even a ten second grind on this thing is liable to get a pound on my wall or door. So if you need something quiet and discreet, this ain't it. 2) Speaking of late night sessions, I forgot to put the pollen catcher on ONCE before grinding and it was a complete and total disaster. Without that pollen catcher the ground herbs will fly up and out of the container and get stuck in the outer rim between the cover and the metal inner part, and also spill out all around the grinder. It's completely insane that they made it this way. If you buy it just come to terms with the fact that you will eventually forget to put pollen catcher cap on for one of the times you use it and will have to deal with a similar mess. TLDR: it's fine, it does its job, but I wouldn't buy it again. If you don't care about noise level and believe you have the mental fortitude to never, ever forget to put the pollen catcher on before you start grinding, go for it.
