When i first got the straightener i didn't expect it to be of very good quality because of the the very affordable price i paid for it. To my surprise the straightener was of very good quality. The only downside i can see for this product is that it doesnt have a temp.control botton the product just goes to the highest temp as soon as you turn it on. Other than that it is an amazing buy. Really good quality, and it heats up fast- which is something I will have to get used to. It does have a timed shut-off (safety feature which is totally awesome) so if you are used to having to think way ahead and preheat to curl/style your hair- don't, you don't have to. A single pass works really well. The power button is on the inside so no accidental shut-off, only complaint I have is that the edges are a little harsh/sharp therefore cut off circulation so my fingers go to sleep. However since it is only requires one pass- I think it should be fine. I would still recommend it, really good quality for the price. I am not really proficient with hair styling- kind of a ponytail girl; yet I still end up with a great look. ... show more

Product not as good as I expect. The temperature seems good, but the Grip is not holding strong to my hair & keeps slip out when I'm using the straighter. Which means it would takes more time for me to do the same job as I usually do. I was originally bought for my 11 years girl to use, now she doesn't like since her hair is thicker , which makes it even difficult to grip. ... show more

I didn't know what to expect from this hair straightener because I've never purchased a "VAV" product before, but I am VERY pleased :) I have always been really picky about my hair styling tools because my hair is very thick and hard to tame ( not to mention really long ) But this straightener actually made my hair very soft, silky, straight and manageable like the women you see on the commercials! Honestly I was really worried ordering this after reading some of the comments but ordered anyway because I lost my chi iron and am now in college and am limited on funds. My hair is already fairly straight and is pretty thick however this straightener has put all my doubt to rest. It works great and I don't have to worry much if something happens to it due to the less expensive costs. This is the biggest piece of junk. It heats to low temp and does nothing for my hair but made it look fluffy. It legit does not work. I am a professional and I wanted something cheaper for on the go. Yes I normally use very pricey flat irons so I chose this model based on other reviews. Either mine is broken or everyone else has stick straight hair to start with. My hair is curly and I blow dry it straight then use iron to smooth it out. This is not a flat iron to use if you want to get rid of curls or waves. I wI'll be giving it to my 14 year old since there is no way to burn yourself on something that barely gives off heat. ... show more
