  • Very impressive! One of a kind.
Color: Nickel / Copper
I’ve been looking for ways to improve the time it takes to dry and straighten my wife’s hair and I finally found it. It takes less than half the time and hair dyed hair comes out beautiful and it seems like no damage at all. This straightening device is a true wet/dry product. They aren’t lying to you like a lot of others claim to. It’s expensive but when you use it you’ll know where the $500 went. In my opinion, it’s the best money can buy. I’ll be using it for years and probably throw away the hair dryers because I feel like I don’t need them anymore with this. Thank you, Dyson! ... show more

  • Amazing
Color: Nickel / Copper
I have fine naturally curly hair. I've heard all my life how "lucky" I am. There are days I embrace my curls and days I curse my curls. Like many out there I rely on a blow dryer (heat) and a flat iron (more heat) to achieve a sort of style on the days I don't like my hair. I recently chopped off 13" of hair for a donation to a non-profit, and my hair and I are kind of trying to figure out what we have now. My new do just barely touches my shoulders, so it is not long, not super short. I have no idea what possessed me to fork out $400 for a hair dryer...but after reading the reviews on Amazon I threw caution to the wind and bought one. While I waited for this investment to arrive I busied myself with watching dozens of YouTube on how these work. By the time it arrived, my anticipation level was off the charts and I could hardly wait to wash my hair and use this thing. The videos were so helpful, that I was comfortable with operating it right off. There is a learning curve for sure...this looks like a flat iron and after years of using one, it's like second nature, but this is not a flat iron. It's a weird hair dryer. You have to reposition the device to go in the direction of the air flow. One thing I did not consider, but it totally isn't an issue for some reason, is this does not reach your roots. I was concerned I would have straight hair from two inches out and weird wavy stuff at my scalp. That for some reason is not the case. I use just the air and kind of dry the roots in sections as I go. Results: Oh my goodness! It does exactly was it says it will do. I was 'blown away' by the results. Like shocked almost. I kept waiting for something to go wrong, but my hair just stayed straight and well behaved. I used a heat spray by Pura d'or and also have a backup Rusk serum to try next. Honestly, I've never seen anything like this contraption. The only downside, and it's not really a downside, just a comment, this leaves your hair straight. Super straight. You are not able to put a bend or curve if you are looking for that. I suppose you can use a flat iron, but that sort of defeats the purpose of having something that Dyson touts as being kinder to your hair. Overall, I am surprised at myself for spending an obscene amount of money for a hair dryer, but I am equally surprised at how this really does do what it says it does. Welcome to my hair ritual, Dyson. ... show more

  • Worth the money
Color: Strawberry Bronze / Blush Pink
I had a lot of guilt buying this for myself because of the price. It is totally worth it. My hair is not as damaged. It’s shiny and doesn’t feel like straw. I also enjoy that I can blow dry and straighten using the same tool.

  • Best hair tool ever
Color: Nickel / Copper
This hair tool is expensive but worth the money!! It’s definitely a little noisy but it does the job quickly. I am able to dry and straighten my hair at the same time, this saves me so much time. I am also using so much less heat on my hair. I used to straighten my hair at 345 and who knows how hot my hair dryer was now I only use this tool at 285. So much better for my hair. ... show more

  • AMAZING
Color: Nickel / Copper
TL:DR - my wavy/curly hair typically takes 45 min - 1 hour to straighten. I used the air straight and it took 17 and a half minutes to go from wet hair to dry and straight. It also worked on dry waves/curls to dry straight. Easy to use. Highly recommend. I honestly was a little skeptical about this when I first decided to try it. I have wavy/curly hair and it takes FOREVER to straighten it. Blow drying takes a long time for me, and I honestly lack the brush/hand/eye coordination to do a great job. So basically I have to dry my hair and then go over it with a flat iron. I have tried multiple tools that are blow dry brushes to try to get my hair from wet to dry/straight and most of them do nothing but create frizz. Even after finding one that semi-worked, I still had to spend time going over my hair with a flat iron to get it straight and not frizzy. This whole process would typically take me a minimum of 45 min, but usually closer to an hour. I had read reviews about the Dyson air straight greatly reducing that time and it being super easy to use. I decided to try it and assumed that even if it did get my hair close to straight, I would still need to go over it with a flat iron. I was hoping this would just drastically cut down the overall time it took. The first time I tried it my hair was dry and curly. I had some free time and decided to see how the air straight would do in this capacity. I figured, since it was using air, it wouldn’t be the best at going from dry-curly to dry- straight. I was wrong. Within what seemed to be about 15 minutes my hair was straight!! I even quickly “set” it with the cool air setting. I was honestly astonished at how well this machine worked!! Then it was time for the real test. Would it be able to take my wet, out the shower hair, and straighten it quickly? I wasn’t sure. I watched the video in the Dyson app when I first opened it (I think it’s about 2 min long, nothing crazy) which explained how to use the tool to dry the roots before you start straightening. I decided to use the stopwatch function on my phone to see how long it actually took me to do my hair. I hit start on the timer and started straightening with the air straight. Most sections of my hair were dry and straight with ONE pass of the machine. This was honestly amazing because using a flat iron typically takes several. Some areas needed two passes, but this was still so much better and quicker than anything else I’ve used. Plus it was my first time doing it so I’m sure there is a learning curve. When my hair looked done I went over it with the cool setting to “set” the style and hit stop on my phone. It took me 17 min and 29 seconds to go from wet waves/curls to dry straight hair. I am honestly amazed and will never be able to straighten my hair any other way. ... show more

  • Great straightener but has it's pros and cons
Color: Nickel / Copper
Pros: love the way its straightens very fast and efficient use wet or dry Cons A bit heavy the box on the cord, that I assume gives it the power, is clunky and awkward not good for travel-too big and heavy if you travel abroad the voltage it requires is not compatible with an adapter I have shorter bangs and still need to use a 1 inch straightener for them ... show more
