I have long hair that doesn't hold curl well. I initially bought this curler from a Facebook ad about 3 years ago. Prior to using this curler, I used a curler with a rotating wand, which I like, but after I curled my hair in the 2nd story bathroom, my hair was almost straight by the time I got to the bottom of the stairs on the fist level. Since my previous curler was heat only, I used the highest heat to curl my hair in an effort to make the curl last a little longer. Because of this, I often had to have my hair trimmed to cut off the burned ends. After about 3 years of use, my other L'ange curler got a film on the curling plates from hair spray I use, and my hair was starting to stick to the plates. So, I decided to clean the plates. Since the film was kind of thick, I used a scrubby to get it off. After cleaning, and getting the curler wet, it didn't work. So, I had to go back to using the rotating curler until I got the order for this one. I was not a happy camper!! Surprisingly, my loved L'ange curler needed only to dry and the next day it was working again. So, now I have this one as a backup. This is fine with me since I don't want to be without this curler again. What I love about this curler is: 1) I don't have to use the highest to get a nice curl. 2) Since the fan cools the curl as you go, the curl lasts much longer than with other heated curling irons. 3) It doesn't take long to get used to using this curler for the curl you want. For me, I curl the top of my hair, which is shorter, in 3 sections. After I brush it out, I use the curler to modify the curl until it lays the way I want it to. I curl the longer hair in two sections pulled to the front to smooth the hair and get curl only at the ends. It can take a little practice to get the curl you want. Small sections will produce more curl for each section. Larger section are fine if you want smoothing of the hair and a little curl only at the ends. The trick is to turn the curler as you move it slowly down the hair strands and hold it a little longer at the ends for more curl. The longer you hold it, the more it curls. Pros: Cool to touch, eliminates burn risk of straightening or curling. Easy to use. Lots of temperature choices. Cons: Button that turns it on or off on handle where you often hit it while styling. Curls don't last long at all.

This is by far the best curling tool I’ve ever used. I have naturally wavy, frizzy hair. I’m 56 so I have a lot of gray in my hair so it’s very course as well. With a normal curling iron, my hair will curl but the curl doesn’t hold for long. No matter what product I use with the curling iron. I believe the cool air the fan blows on my hair is the game changer. It sets the curl so that it holds all day. I use a heat protectant spray and a texturizing spray to help it hold but that’s a small price to pay for curls that stay all day. The fact that it’s a flat iron too, gets rid of the frizz. It’s not the best flat iron I’ve ever used for straightening my hair so if you plan to use it for that, and you have hair like mine, you will still need another flat iron. I had seen videos of this tool many times and thought there was no way it could really curl hair that easily but it can! I am so impressed with how effortless it is to get beautiful curls that last multiple days! You can even get different types of curls by changing how much you twist the barrel as you pull it through your hair. Let me just say, as someone who could never get the beach wave look, this tool is worth the hype. Super versatile! The product heats quickly, is light weight and easy to use. However it did not curl my hair very well and the curls did not last as long as they normally would. I currently use a medium barrel curling iron in my long hair (past shoulder blades). Since my hair normally curls easily, i was surprised this product didn't work as well. I gifted it to my granddaughter who is 13. She is just starting out with styling her hair so appreciate it. I could've turned the heat up, but i don't want fried hair.
