  • Works in my UPS, but max discharge rate is lower.
Size: 12.8V 7AH
I use this to replace a 6+ year old SLA battery in a old APS UPS. It's lighter weight than the original, however it is wider in physical dimensions so I had to cut part of the side and bottom off my UPS case which I would not recommend you do for safety reasons. The UPS did not complain at all and is able to charge it in use it for backup power, however the rated max discharge rate for the LiFePO4 battery at 89W is only a quarter of the original lead acid battery's 330W. That's fine for my use-case because what's connected to it is low amperage network equipment, so I don't mind, but if you need a higher discharge rate you may want to stick to SLA. Otherwise no problems and if their lifespan claim is correct then I expect this to last longer than the original battery. ... show more

  • An education on LiFePO4 batteries
Size: 12.8V 7AH
Several reviews say the battery came fully charged. WRONG! What most people don't know is that fully charged for these batteries is 13.6 volts. If you see it reading 13 volts when you get it, that is only 30% charge, and that is the typical charge that LiFePO4 batteries are shipped with. That is how mine came. If you don't know this and charge it to only 12.8 or 13 volts like a lead-acid battery, you are only using at most 30% of the battery capacity. Charge it to 13.6 volts for 100% charge, or at least 13.3 volts for 90% charge. This is different from lead-acid batteries that are fully charged at only 12.8 volts. Once charged to 100%, it ran my homemade 12-volt stereo boombox (with a car stereo head unit) for 12 hours at medium volume before it read 12 volts, which is only 9% charged. You should not let voltage drop much below 12 volts before recharging, as letting it get much lower will reduce the life of these types of batteries. If you let voltage drop to around 10 volts, the Battery Management System will kick in and shut it off to prevent damage to the battery. In that case it will read 0 volts on a voltmeter, but really still has 10 volts. Some chargers will not want to charge it when it reads 0 volts, so that's another reason to not let it discharge all the way. To revive it, you may need a charger that is not "smart"; one that supplies 14 or 15 volts no matter what. Once it starts reading a voltage, you can then switch to a smart charger. You can charge these LiFePO4 batteries with a regular 12-volt car battery charger meant for lead-acid batteries. The charging profile is identical, except LiFePO4 batteries should not be float charged, so take it off the charger once it is charged rather than leaving it on a float charge like you might a lead-acid battery. Keeping it on a float charger will reduce it's life. Charging to 90% rather than 100% will increase it's life. For long-term storage, a charge of 30% to 50% is best, This is different from lead-acid batteries which are best stored at 100%. LiFePO4 batteries are great, and are safer than the regular Lithium batteries used in cell phones and laptop computers. LiFePO4 batteries do not tend to catch on fire like those other Lithium batteries. They also don't use expensive rare earth minerals like other Lithium batteries. They have less energy density than the Lithium batteries used in cell phones and laptops, so are a bit larger in size. That's why you won't see them in cell phones. Hope this helps some people. • Still working!
Size: 12.8V 7AH
I have about small LED trailer lights hooked up on a pathway and it works fine I only have a 25 watt solar panel hooked up to it but the battery holds them up all night. The best thing about the lithium ion batteries is there very light now keep in mind this is in the Florida Sun and it's been extremely hot I have it in a plastic container semi shaded and it's still cooking. So I would buy one of these again but I actually need a a much larger capacity battery. ... show more

  • Liftmaster gate
Size: 12.8V 7AH
Worked great as a replacement batters for my liftmaster gate. Clamps for wires are bigger than the original batteres. So i had to change the clamps. Would be nice if the sent the clamps cross over with it. Also charge them before installing them. Battery level was not fully charged when received.

  • Powers up my Garmin 63CV Fish Finder
Size: 12.8V 7AH
I was pretty amazed on how well this worked, I took my kayak with my Garmin 63CV fish finder out for about 5 hours on the lake last weekend. I was a little worried as my charger said charge was complete but only showed 95%. Battery worked like a champ and looks like I could do more then a few trips like that on a single charge... Very happy with my purchase!! ... show more
