  • Complete watch repair kit
This kit contains everything you would need to make your own repairs on watches. It's difficult to find someone in "general" stores that are able and available to help make small repairs.

  • My first DIY watch band link removal
Whenever I’ve purchased a new watch, I’ve always gone to a jeweler for watch band link removal - with a cost around $20. I knew this was a skill I could learn if I had the right tools. I had already YouTubed a few ‘how to’ videos which helped because I found the written instruction pamphlet included a bit unclear. Overall, this kit was easy to use & saved me $! For first time users, have good lighting, don’t rush the process & recognize that the link pins may require some force to remove & re-insert. Glad to have this kit for future use for myself & family. Thank you! ... show more

  • Needs some finesse - but it works
I started a watch collection recently and thought I'd give this a try since the first watch I had resized by a shop cost about $15 - I wasn't eager to pay more money on top of what I spent on each watch. This arrived today and I went through about 8 watches resizing the bands myself. First - yes, the pins for the screwdriven watch band changer are not perfectly straight, and yes, they are fragile. The first two millimeters of the pushpin broke off when I tried it the first time. However, the slight irregularity in the pin didn't seem to matter once it was seated in the hole pushing on the watchpin. I think the trick to keeping the pushpin intact may be: 1. Make sure both sides of the band (the side you are pushing the pin into and the side the watchpin will slide out of) are level with each other and the pushpin. 2. Turn the screw slowly. 3. Once the watchpin is far enough out that you think you can get it - don't pull it out of the watch before you retract the device's pin, this keeps the band from coming apart. I'm not sure if this was what tripped me up the first time and caused one of the pushpins to snap. I didn't snap any pushpins for the device after the first and removed multiple watchpins with it. I had no issues with the hammer, the watchholder, or the pins made for it. I think it's nice that both the hammer and the screwdriven device are included in the set - there were a few watchpins that popped out easily when I used the hammer, but for the watchpins that were seated just a bit too tightly; the steady even pressure of the screwdriven device worked better. I can't comment on the tool used for changing leather bands, didn't use it. TLDR: It's not perfect, but if you have several watches that need resizing, a watch you think will need more band work in the future, or if you want to spend less money and have the patience to do it yourself; then this could be for you. ... show more

  • Be prepared for failure - It could work, but not always
First of all, I had read all the negative reviews about this product and purchased it knowing well what I was getting. Nothing surprised me. You really have to understand the pieces supplied, what their intended role is and how they fail at their intended use. Then you can use it carefully and with some luck, the task you are performing will work out. I wanted to remove 3 links from a Tissot T2 ladies watch bracelet. They are connected by unidirectional pins that have to be removed in the direction of an arrow etched on the bracelet and inserted in the same direction. The tool provided is like a vice that presses a thin needle pin forward against the pin that is inside the watch bracelet link and gently pushes that pin out. The problem is that the link has to be aligned with the pushing pin and that job is for the round platform that can be raised or lowered by unscrewing it. That platform is loose and once you raise it 1/8", it basically wobbles, hence the bracelet doesn't stay aligned with the direction the pushing pin moves as you turn the vice screw and that results in the pushing pin (made of soft metal) to bend and break. I knew that would happen and the first link I removed was held by my wife carefully aligned and the process worked, even though in the end the pushing pin bent. The second link, however was in an awkward location and four hands couldn't hold it and still have room to work, so the spare pushing pin I had installed bent. Once bent, even slightly, it's junked. Long story short I resorted to punching the link pins out using the punching pin and small mallet provided (photo). That worked, but again more hands were needed to hold the watch bracelet perpendicular to the table so I could punch the pins out and swap the links out. I got lucky that the watch pins were not too tight. I'm sure I will break the tool again on other watches. The rest of the tools and the parts supplied are pretty lame. I would have returned this item, but it didn't make sense for me to use $12 gas to return a $10 item. I will eat the cost. ... show more
