I had spent a week pouring enzymes down my shower drain and waiting... and waiting.... and waiting for something to happen. I did have a snake, but it was much thicker than this one and I could not get it to make the initial bend toward the tub drain, where I suspected the clog. This snake is a little fiddley - unscrew, feed out, tighten, turn handle until you hit the obstruction (photo 1), pull it out and repeat until the obstruction is clear (photo 2 - ignore the tissue). A quick rinse and overnight dry, then feed it back into the plastic casing and store in the included zippered bag. And celebrate your victory! I haven't used the included claw grabber or drain hair removal towels, but expect them to be equally effective. I really appreciate the zippered bag to keep everything together and ready for the next clog. Very nice product! ... show more

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to test this device on my sink. After removing the drain cover on my sink, I discovered there was a second cover, and the hole of that cover was too small to accommodate the auger. In the process of removing the primary cover, dried up calk fell down the drainpipe. I was able to successfully test out the drain claw as I fished the calk out of the pipe. I used one of the plastic hair removers to to prod, hook and fish out hair, and that seemed to do the trick in terms of drainage. So I didn’t bother to remove the second drain cover to fully test out the snake. The bathtub is a bit on the slow side to drain as well, so when that gets bad enough, I’ll give the snake another run.
