  • Tip did not break.
I used it may be 10 times in the last week to clear a stubborn clog that was just out of reach. So I finally attached a thick wire to the tip and that cleared the clog. Pros: 1. Easy to use and goes through the sink with in-built strainer that restricts the size of what enters the sink. And easy to retract! 2. The ingenious way to connect it to the drill makes it so easy to operate! I can vary the speed, pull and push, and even reverse speed to get the clog. 3. The tip looks strong enough to me. Does not look like it will break soon. Cons: 1. I wish it was 2 inches longer. My clog was barely out of reach. After attaching a 2-inch hard but flexible wire to the tip, it looks all set for any future clogs in my bathroom. ... show more

  • Junk
I have an earlier version of this Drainshroom that works pretty well. I purchased this newer version recently and am very disappointed. The Amazon ad shows the older version and you will not get the one advertised or pictured. The one you receive, not advertised, is now about half the diameter and strength as the older version. Much too weak to put down a drain. It’s also covered with a plastic sheath that, in theory, would make it slide better but it just twists itself up in a ball on the cable. The cable also easily twists up as you spin it. It’s too weak and almost impossible to get it down the drain without it kinking and twisting around itself. If you encounter any obstruction it will fail. I do not recommend. I am trying to let Amazon know, since they are the seller, but they make that difficult. This item is falsely advertised and a waste of time and money. ... show more

  • Works perfectly and it was easy to use
For years I had issues with one sink, tried lazy solutions like liquid and gels. Also paid handyman, but issue never completely went away. Then the other sink got clogged and I decided to take action myself, then found this product and decided to give it a try. I removed the drain stoppers which was a bit tedious but easy, but if you are super lazy you can try without doing that, but I suggest you remove the drain stoppers first. Then I attached the snake to my electric drill, which I set to the minimum speed to avoid accidents. The snake did not went all the way, but deep enough. Turn the drill on for around 10 seconds and removed, a lot of hair came out but not that much. To my surprise that solved the issue immediately, so only a few hair can cause slow drain. Then I went to the other sink, this one had lots and lots of hair, which the snake took off easily. And again, the drain was completely clean and working perfectly. I don't mean "much better", I mean perfect, water went again lighting fast. Put the drain stoppers back and that was it, could not be more happy with the result. I would buy again, but I don't need to because the snake is still in perfect shape, so totally re-usable. ... show more

  • Yeah the tip broke instantly but.... still worked so!
Okay so the tip on this broke instantly. You can actually see it tangled in the gross wad from my photos haha! Clearly this clog was too tough for it to handle. No big deal- I took a pair of scissors to the plastic tubing to give it "hooks" to grab hair- and as you can see it totally worked! Grabbed that huge clog of hair and now I don't need to worry about the plumber haha. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to use it again. For the price it did the job- I just had to get a little creative! Easy to use- obviously the plastic tip material is a little cheap/ better for tiny clogs, but hey, if you've got a will you've got a way and this tool will help you get it done! I'd definitely buy it again. ... show more

  • Difficult to use...
Instructions are clear but in actuality it gets MESSY. So popped this thing on my drill, tried to stick it down my drain and it immediately stuck. After some sweaty minutes shoving that thing down where the sun don't shine, finally got it to a length I thought would work. NOPE! Immediately it twisted up and out like a rat snake after a mouse, splattering me with.... gunk. YUCK. When I finally wrastled the slippery anaconda back down its stinky hole, it got SO MUCH GUNK that I nearly gagged. BUT THEN! In a twist (heh) of fate, the removal of said gunk decided it really liked its new home and stayed ON to my dismay. When it was finally removed and thrown into its new home (trash) I noticed the plastic knobby end had become bent and broken. Sad day. ... show more

  • HOLY MOLY! This thing works!
So I don’t write reviews. Ever. This time I had to write one. My bathroom sink has always drained really slow but over the last month or two it’s gotten ridiculously slow where I can’t finish brushing my teeth withouta pool of water already sitting. I bought drano and followed those instructions. After letting it sit for 30 minutes and pouring 2 liters of boiling water into the drain, the water sat in my sick, not moving. I checked in an hour and it went down slightly but all of it remained until the next morning when all the water had drained. I poured liters of boiling water into the sink throughout the next day but same thing. It would just sit for a while until it drained. I came on Amazon and found this product. I thought what the heck, it’s cheap, let me try it out. I received the product and poured another liter of boiling water along with a cup of dawn down the drain to see if it loosened things up. I attached it to my drill and went for it. At first it wouldn’t go past the trap. I stopped drilling, and pushed it through in order for it to bend and get past the trap. I drilled and pulled out maybe 3-4 times without catching anything. I’ve read other reviews where the product has gotten tangled in the drain so I was very cautious. I tried again and it caught on to something. I continued to drill and pulled up slowly at the same time. When it was almost out I stopped drilling. The picture shows what I pulled out. It looks like a turd! I have no idea what that is, other than maybe hair. It was easy to get off and clean. I turned the water on and it flows beautifully now. Best money I’ve ever spent! ... show more
