After you use these, you'll never want drug-store brand nail clippers again. These are well built, tons of opening capacity, and they are very sharp. These clippers require almost no pressure to cut cleanly through my thickest nail (unfortunately I have been dealing with an infected nail for a couple years). I have had other large/heavy-duty clippers, including the kind that look like very sharp wire-cutters. There is no comparison, these just got the job done so quickly and easily, I'm still in awe. These go through nails like they are not there, so be careful you don't get any skin in the way. Really sharp and very effective, even for ridiculously thick nails. The little file that comes with isn't terribly useful but it works. If I had one complaint it would be that the case doesn't really close very well and could have had a nicer design, which is a bummer because these really need to be in a case. It seems silly to get excited over nail clippers...but I was excited when these showed up. I immediately opened the package and used them on my toes, including a fairly thick big nail. That nail is always the hardest to trim with a conventional clippers; they aren't strong enough or sturdy enough for the job. After one use, I'm very very happy with the purchase. These clippers are sharp but did the job quickly without any hassle. The only thing I had to figure out was how to use them: the hinge is turned upside down inside the clipper itself.
