I had planned to mount this on my dash, but when I went to install, I didn't have a flat surface to install the phone mount on the dash. Plus, my dash is textured and not flat. I didn't want to mount on windshield because of the summer heat. This set also includes a vent mount. Once I figured out how to adjust the vent clamp, I clamped it down. Wow, very impressive clamp! Very sturdy! I've only used it for one day so I don't know the longevity of the clamp, but it does come with a 36 month warranty if you email the company to activate your warranty. I plan to also try out mounting it on the windshield since summer is a few months away. I like the option of mounting to the vent or windshield. ... show more

The device is very sturdy and mounts easily. If mounting to the windshield, be sure to map where exactly you want to place it. It sticks quite securely even before you apply the locking mechanism. Once it’s locked into place, it not going anywhere.

I purchased this phone mount to use in a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, intending to do some light off-roading and camping. Since the purchase I have done both, the phone mount has worked well in a vertical position with the arm in a downward position and the base of the phone mount resting on a felt furniture pad. Without the rest, the phone mount will bounce and the side grips of the phone holder are not strong enough to hold the phone into the mount. Additionally, if you attempt to use the phone holder in a horizontal position, don't bother, the phone mount is incapable of holding the phone into the cradle unless the car is parked. The suction cup seems to work really great, I have not had any issues with it falling off, even under off-road conditions. Heat and cold have not caused the phone mount to fall off the window either. I gave this a 3-star review because the phone cradle is not strong enough to hold the phone in place under normal daily driving conditions and because the arm leading to the suction cup bounces wildly under daily driving conditions. Edit 12/15/24: Customer service contacted me concerning my review and offered to refund me the purchase cost of the phone mount which was appreciated. This is the first time I have had an interaction like this and it does say a lot for the seller and wanting to make their customers happy. I stand by my initial review of the product but I am giving 4 stars because this company worked hard to make things right. I purchased this item for my husband who is behind the wheel of a truck for 12-14 hours a day. He doesn’t typically have an opinion about such items as this mount. But he has been very vocal reporting that he “LOVES IT!” It’s well made and extremely sturdy as it holds his iPhone 15 Pro Max with an Otterbox case. He has had zero issues with the suction cup. It also has a telescopic ability and operates perfectly. I ordered 8 different mounts for him to choose from. He did not want to test drive the remaining 5 after he opened the Vanmass. For around $30 it is worth the money, I've only used Vanmass holders for my car ever since I started driving. So far the suction cup that holds onto the inside of my car windshield has not given way and I got this in the summer of 2024, which tells me that this is a tough little holder and I love seeing that. ... show more
